It’s almost here! Join us THIS FRIDAY, October 2, from 4–7 PM for Cattails & Cocktails on Krebs Lake at the La Pointe-Krebs House & Museum!
And remember, the event is FREE to attend! ❤️

This is your chance to explore the historic house and grounds while seeing some of the skills, crafts and traditions that were part of life along the Gulf Coast centuries ago.

🏛️ LIVING HISTORY THROUGHOUT THE GROUNDS
The History Museum of Mobile will be joining us with hands-on demonstrations, including:

🪚 Pit Sawing — See how massive timbers were cut into usable lumber by hand, long before modern sawmills.

🦪 Tabby & Bousillage Making — Learn about two historic building techniques and materials used along the Gulf Coast—including the oyster-shell tabby that remains such an important part of the La Pointe-Krebs House.

🌿 Historic Apothecary — Explore medicines, remedies and practices used in earlier centuries.

🔨 Colonial Trades & Crafts — Watch historic skills in action and learn how everyday necessities were made by hand.

🎭 Meet “Hugo Krebs” — Jimmy Krebs will bring one of the house's most important early residents to life!

And history is only part of the evening!

🎶 Enjoy live music from Rick Kosman, One A-Chord and The Singing Sailors, plus beautiful pre-1950 antique automobiles displayed along the lake.

🌳 LaPointe-Krebs descendants: Visit our Descendant Reunion & Roll Call, explore family history, find your branch on our family tree and join us for family photos!

🥂 Guests 21+ can add Toasting Traditions for $25, featuring w**e, b**r and light hors d'oeuvres. Tickets can be purchased in advance through the museum store. The rest of Cattails & Cocktails is FREE!
