Tucked back in the woods, with a creek running past and a vintage mill that has been standing since 1925, it's the kind of venue that does half the work for you. No uplighting needed. Spring in the Smokies has a way of showing up right on time.
The dogwoods bloomed. Mount LeConte wore her best blue. And this couple said yes with every person who has ever loved them cheering them on.
There were grandmothers laughing on the porch before the ceremony. A flower girl holding tight to a hand she has held her whole life. Little ones watching from a daddy's arms. And then, that kiss. The one that turned a family into a bigger family.
This is what a Smoky Mountain wedding looks like when you let the mountains do some of the talking.

Karlee threw her bouquet in the air the second that kiss ended. That kind of joy you cannot fake.
She led him through the meadow by the hand while her dress dragged through the tall grass. They spun at the arch. They sat in the creek grass back to back, holding hands, grinning like they had just gotten away with something.
The Smoky Mountains were out in full force that day. Not that either of them were looking.
