📍 Gaston & Lincoln County + Greater Charlotte History behind Loray Mill:

Built in 1902 by John Love and George Gray, they contracted their names to Loray, and the mill, said to be the largest single roof textile mill in the South, went on to become a part of history. The Communist Textile Workers Union led a strike in 1929 that laid siege to the town and resulted in the death of Gastonia Police Chief Orville Aderholt and worker's rights champion Ella May Wiggins. As public sentiment turned against the union and the Great Depression forced the company operating the mill into bankruptcy, Firestone Tire and Rubber Company stepped in and for the next 60 years produced woven tire cord for an exploding automobile industry. Fast-forward 20 years to April 2013 when the redevelopment of Loray Mill into a mixed-used property was green lighted & construction began to make a dream come true & bring history back to life.

We had such a great time hosting South Point’s 2026 Homecoming at Loray Mill! Between the casino tables, the red carpet-worthy photo ops, and all the little details, the Lucy Penegar Grand Hall and The Speakeasy were looking pretty sharp!

A HUGE shoutout to Jena Jenkins and her crew for all the hard work, planning, and attention to detail that went into making this night perfect for the Class of 2026. Y’all absolutely knocked it out of the park!

A little celebration for a whole lot of love! 🩵🫐🤍🫐 🤍🫐🩵

We loved seeing The Tap House at Loray Mill filled with family and friends celebrating the upcoming arrival of Baby Carson!

Thank you, Tymel and Jasmine- and Grandma Tara, for letting us be part of such a special occasion. Wishing you all the best, a safe and smooth delivery, and plenty of sweet moments as you welcome your little one into the world!

A little grazing, a lot of gorgeous! 🍇🧀

Who says charcuterie has to fit on a board?

We took things up a notch with this oversized grazing display, bringing together artisan cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruits, seasonal vegetables, and all the little bites that make a spread worth gathering around.

Rustic barrels, vintage crates, lush greenery, and a little candlelight made this one just as much a statement piece as it was a delicious part of the celebration.

Because at Homesteads Events, we believe the food should be part of the experience. 🤍

From the warm glow of candlelight to the greenery, personal touches, and photographs filled with memories, every detail came together beautifully for Carter & Eryn’s welcome celebration at Loray Mill.

As you begin this next chapter together, we wish you a lifetime of laughter, patience, adventure, and a love that only grows stronger with the years. May your home always be a place of comfort, your days be filled with joy, and your greatest memories always be the ones you make together.

✨ We’ve been a little quiet on social media, but behind the scenes? Anything but! ✨

Between the hustle and bustle of everyday life and a calendar full of incredible events, we realized we’ve been so busy making memories that we forgot to share some of them with YOU!

From corporate catering in Uptown Charlotte to unforgettable galas celebrating Arts Gaston (formerly the Gaston Arts Council) and Nita’s Silent Hands, to beautiful weddings, receptions, and everything in between, our team has been hard at work bringing some truly special occasions to life. 🥂

Every event has its own personality, its own story, and its own little bit of magic. Whether we’re serving an elegant dinner, transforming a venue, or helping a couple celebrate their next chapter, we’re reminded just how much we love what we do.

Iconiq Moments is a Gastonia-based photo booth, photography, and videography company that we’ve absolutely grown to love working with. 📸✨
