We look like superheroes don't we lol. So one of my dreams is brewing to fruition. I don't know what it will be when it has gone through it's complete revolution but it's brewing. I had this idea to have candid conversations with some of the amazing business owners and creatives here in my city showcasing their amazing talents and the reality behind building a brand and legacy a small but big town. Alot of these conversations are had in intimate friend gatherings and or lunch or just giving out on a random day. Well I have had plenty of folks that say they wish they could be in the room so I decided to take these conversations and put them online. Today was episode 2 with my friend and I am so excited. It was so good yall. We talked about how he got started, what he wished people would have told him when he started and what his future vision is in the City of Gary. So this other amazing thing happened today. I read the email about 5 times before responding. I was in complete disbelief. I'm a background player or at least I thought that was the plan for my life. I've been called the" Olivia Pope" in my City because I'm always usually called at the last minute by organizations and people to come in and fix projects or get people wrangled to get things done. I go especially hard for small businesses, arts and artists, and youth. I do what I do because I love my City and the people in my City. But sometimes you get tired in well doing and sometimes you think maybe it's all for nothing. In fact just recently I was told, "Hey G even though everyone knows you, they can't pinpoint what you have done." And my response was what the hell! Ive been fighting with feelings of unworthiness and value the majority of my life. And then today happened. The Has decided to grant me this honor. First of all, the person this is named after was my mentor back when I first started College and challenged me to go for leadership roles at my University so I ran and won the position of President of the Student Activity Board. He challenged me to not just go for titles but leave a legacy. And so I did changing things for the students on that campus that they still do til this day. But he was An Advocate. An advocate for his people and the Arts and The City of Gary. I never thought I would ever be considered for this honor. Kelechukwu's legacy and personality and reach was bigger than life. I hope that I can make him proud. His death was untimely and he is greatly missed. I am so thankful

My heart is so full and so unexpectedly. So we did the Glow Up Family Summit again and we got closer to the vision I had 3 years ago. My company and and collab to put on a family focused event at ParkShore Commons every year. We wanted to do something that helped encourage healthy expression and communication regarding feelings and self worth through ART with the families. Well Some of my clients and community partners came through to lead activities. Today has been super special. The kids enjoyed themselves and so did the parents. I will be planning a bigger event for the spring and will contact people as I get the needs outlined. Thank you to and and . Thank you 'sBusiness. Thank you and Jennifer. Happy Saturday! I haven't gotten to share much on IG because I'm running other accounts but recently I got to jump back into one of my first lives and that is event planning. Training while trading off the baton to my assistant and mentee. I get to knock the dust off of my trustee floor planning software. There so much more to event planning than decor and in fact decor and design are actually separate departments. I can't wait to show the finished product.
