Remembering jazz pianist & bandleader Benny Moten on his Birthday!! Born in Kansas City in 1893, he helped establish the Kansas City jazz style. They had elements of ragtime, boogie woogie, swing & blues. Then in 1928-29 he recruited Count Basie, Hot Lips Page, Walter Page and later Ben Webster from the Kansas City Blue Devils.
