Located in the beautiful foothills of Northern California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, Reverie Retreat has three yurts, a cottage, and a spectacular infinity pool from which you can see Mt. We are located approximately 8 miles north of Placerville, within an hour’s drive from Sacramento and a three hour drive from San Francisco. The property boasts stunning views to the west with spectacular sunsets

and a full view of the night sky. At 2,200 feet in elevation Reverie has hot summers and mild winters, enabling a bountiful year-round garden and a multitude of fruit trees to flourish. We are within the El Dorado wine region and a five minute drive from the south fork of the American River. Behind the cabins, trails, and sunsets are… us—Tamara & Ramon—and our two “executive greeters,” Copper & Felix. 🐶✨

🐾 Copper: Lap time = her full-time job. Expect instant snuggles.
🐾 Felix: Runs a strict background check before cuddles. Pass the test, and you’ve got a best friend for life.

We dreamed up Reverie as a place to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect—with nature, with each other, and maybe even with a fox who steals flip-flops (true story 🦊👟).

Our Story

Located in the beautiful foothills of Northern California’s Sierra Nevada mountains. With 32 acres of seclusion we are located approximately 8 miles north of Placerville, within an hour’s drive from Sacramento and a two and a half hour drive from San Francisco. The property boasts stunning views to the west with spectacular sunsets and a full view of the night sky. At 2,200 feet in elevation Reverie Retreat has hot summers and mild winters, enabling a bountiful year-round garden and a multitude of fruit trees to flourish. Nearly the entire property is shaded by large heritage oaks as well as a diverse mix of conifers, giving visitors a pleasant respite from the heat in the summer, vivid foliage in the fall, and lots of habitat for birds and other wildlife. Two ponds and a stream provide the opportunity for swimming, fishing, or dunking your feet in the cool delicious water. A stunning vanishing edge, salt-water pool is the icing on the cake. We are within a burgeoning wine region and a 15 minute drive from the south fork of the American River as well as within close proximity to several smaller rivers and lakes in the area. Owners of Reverie Retreat center: Tamara Johnston, Ramon Fliek welcome you to enjoy our delicious cuisine and ambiance. We are excited and inspired to create a true retreat for family, friends, and friends we have yet to make. So come stay with us and get a taste of what Reverie has to offer!
