Beautiful Cozumel! Whether you’re at the downtown or international ports, we have some great restaurant recommendations. You can walk to these, although some are a little ways away.

Topping the list at the international port are:
Chi - where the crew goes. The menu is a book featuring Mexican, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, etc. food.

IX Kool serves authentic Mayan food.

Bar Mandy is inside the port and has great Mexican food.

Lucy’s is a good walk and serves Mexican and some Indonesian food.

El Abuelo Gerardo our go-to at the downtown port.

Happy Juneteenth!

If you’re vacationing in Galveston today, you’re spending Juneteenth in the very place where it all began.

Galveston holds a special place in American history as the birthplace of Juneteenth. On June 19, 1865 more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, Union troops arrived in Galveston and announced that enslaved people in Texas were finally free. That moment is now commemorated nationwide as Juneteenth.

Today, you can celebrate this historic day right here where history was made at the Juneteenth Music Festival & Fireworks at Menard Park.

The free community event features live music, cultural performances, youth recognition, community tributes, and a spectacular fireworks show over the Gulf to close out the evening.

Entertainment includes:
🎶 Ruben Moreno & International Zydeco Band
🎤 Amanda Solis & The Ultimate Selena Experience
🎵 Gospel, blues, jazz, zydeco, soul, and Tejano music throughout the day

📍 Menard Park
🕐 Festivities begin at 1:00 PM
🎆 Fireworks at 9:15 PM

Whether you’re visiting for the weekend or lucky enough to call Galveston home, today is a meaningful opportunity to celebrate freedom, culture, and community in the city where Juneteenth was born.
