Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2025 Gallipolis River Rec Independence Day Parade — happening July 4th at 11:00 AM!

This year’s theme is “Where Stars and Stripes Align”, so get creative and show off your patriotic pride in the lineup.

We are disappointed to announce that unfortunately, due to the extended weather forecast for today, the fireworks company contracted for this evening has made the decision to cancel the fireworks for tonight. There will be no rescheduled date. Entertainment for this evening will continue as planned and concessions will be open. Updates regarding the parade will be announced at 2:00 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone in the City Park!

📢IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING RIVER REC📢

As most of you know, the forecast for Thursday is showing the possibility of showers and thunderstorms. We are monitoring the radars and will make the final decision regarding the parade at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 4th. The parade is scheduled to begin at 4:00. As of this time, all scheduled activities including the parade and fireworks are a “go” as scheduled. Please be advised we will keep you posted by social media and news affiliates.

🌟 Get ready for another unforgettable River Rec Festival! 🌟

Join us as we kick off the festivities on Wednesday, July 3rd with Gospel Night in the Gallipolis City Park, starting at 6:00 PM. Local church groups will be performing and there will be concessions available for purchase.

Then, on July 4th, the excitement continues with a day packed full of fun activities:

🎆 8:30 AM - Baby tot Sparkler Contest: Bring your little sparklers for a morning of cuteness! Register on-site at 7:30 AM or pre-register online at https://tinyurl.com/5n7nrmfz

🌟 10:30 AM - Gallipolis Junior Women's Club Talent Show: Show off your talents and dazzle the crowd! Pre-registration required at https://tinyurl.com/River-Rec

🐶 11:00 AM - Raina's Grooming Salon Annual Dog Race (Weiner Dogs and French Bulldogs only): Watch these adorable pups race to victory! This year Raina’s is opening the races up to French Bulldogs as well!!! Email [email protected] for a registration packet or visit Raina's Grooming Salon for a paper application!

🐢🐸 12:00 PM - Lloyd Danner Turtle and Frog Races: Cheer on your favorite terrapins and amphibians in this quirky race, led by the Lions Club!

The River Recreation Festival, which began 59 years ago as a passion project of Bud McGhee and Marianne Campbell, continues to thrive thanks to your generosity. While the Chamber's mission is to Support, Strengthen, and Promote our local businesses, Bud and Marianne envisioned a free community event to celebrate Independence Day, complete with local vendors, family entertainment, Fireworks, and much more.

Each year, the costs of our grand celebration increases, and this year we're just shy of our goal. Raina's Grooming Salon's annual dog race is coming back to the River Rec Festival and this year, they're opening it up to French Bulldogs as well as Weiner Dogs!!! Races begin at 11:00 am on July 4th in the Gallipolis City Park
