The new iOS update just dropped this week, and honestly, the new emojis are a whole vibe. If these 8 new icons had an official soundtrack, here is exactly what we think they would sound like:

🫪 Distorted Face | "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. Pure, dramatic, chaotic energy. The operatic section is exactly what this face feels like.

🫯 Fight Cloud | "Sabotage" by Beastie Boys. For when the group chat gets a little too lively. High-impact, comic-book brawl energy. (This one plays well around the 10:45pm time of a dance!)

🧑‍🩰 Ballet Dancer | "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John. I mean, obvious, right? That graceful, fluid movement, and effortless poise.

🫍 Orca | "Moving" by Kate Bush. Everyone knows the *other* Kate Bush song, but you give this one a listen, and the first 20 seconds explains our pick. It has deep-ocean majesty. Sleek, powerful, and mysterious.

🫈 Bigfoot | "Twilight Zone" by Golden Earring. That perfect, paranoid "something is watching me from the wood line" atmosphere, but not going "Somebody's Watching Me" by Rockwell vibes.

🪊 Trombone | "Suits Are Picking Up the Bill" by Squirrel Nut Zippers. Bold, brassy, and impossibly joyful. Let the hot jazz sounds of vintage 1920's and 30's horn section run the show!

🛘 Landslide | "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac. Because some classics just can't be replaced. Perfect for when the ground shifts beneath your feet...like it did for the songwriter, Stevie Nicks.

🪎 Treasure Chest | "Treasure" by Bruno Mars. For the absolute hidden gems in your life.

Wow! Gotta say it again: What an absolutely incredible Friday night! We had the absolute privilege of DJing the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School District Middle School dance, and to say the gymnasium was packed is an understatement. From the very first track to the final song, the energy in that room was completely off the charts! (In fact, let's go a little longer next time! 🔥)

Seeing the students let loose, sing at the top of their lungs, and just enjoy being kids reminded us why we love what we do.

Beyond the great music and the heavy bass, events like this are so incredibly important. Research in adolescent development consistently shows that unstructured social environments—like a school dance—play a vital role in youth growth. According to studies on teenage socialization, these moments are crucial "learning labs" where kids develop essential social-emotional skills. They learn to navigate peer relationships, build confidence, practice inclusivity, and step out of their comfort zones in a safe, positive environment.

In a world that is increasingly digital, having real-world, face-to-face moments to share, laugh, and dance together is everything.

What an absolute BLAST DJing the GET Middle School Dance last night! 🎶🪩

There is nothing better than seeing kids laughing, dancing, singing along, and just being kids in a safe, fun, interactive environment. Huge shoutout to the Student Council, advisors, staff, and everyone involved for putting together such a great night for the students!

At The Dancing Fox DJ Entertainment, we truly believe events like these matter. That’s why we offer extremely discounted rates for school dances and youth events — because creating positive, supervised social experiences for kids is something we’re passionate about supporting in our community. ❤️
