The Missing Man Table 🇺🇸
Today, we remember the brave men and women who never made it home.
At many Memorial Day observances, you’ll find a solitary table set for one — a powerful symbol known as the Missing Man Table or Fallen Comrade Table.
Each item on the table holds deep meaning:
🍋 A slice of lemon for their bitter fate.
🍶 A pinch of salt for the tears of loved ones.
🌹 A red rose for their sacrifice and the families who still wait.
🪞 An empty chair, a silent space — a reminder they are not forgotten.
This Memorial Day, we honor them not just in silence, but by carrying their stories to the table — and remembering the freedom their absence helped protect.
