We’re excited to invite you to participate in Essence of Watermedia, a vibrant exhibition at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park, running September 14 through January 18.

This showcase celebrates the beauty and versatility of two-dimensional watermedia artwork—from watercolor and gouache to acrylic, water-based ink, casein, and tempera. If your creative spirit is fueled by water-based paints, we want to see your work!

Learn to make adorable sea creatures out of felt! In this beginner-friendly needle felting workshop soft, colorful wool is shaped into gentle sea forms, guided step by step with simple tools and techniques. Open to ages 12 - adult, it's the perfect activity for an individual, a parent (or cool aunt!) and teen, or a group of friends.

🎨✨ Calling all artisans across the DMV! ✨🎨

The Arts Barn is on the hunt for talented local makers to feature in our City Shop for FY27!

The City of Gaithersburg Arts Barn City Shop is a curated artisan storefront showcasing a wide range of handcrafted work from selected artists. From September 2026 through June 2027, we’ll be offering residents a chance to discover and purchase truly one-of-a-kind, handmade pieces — and we want YOU to be part of it! 🛍️💛

This call is open to artists living in DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and we especially encourage those who haven’t participated in past Arts Barn or City programs to apply. 🌟

🖼️ Artist selection will be based on:
• Quality of work
• Diversity of medium
• Range of accessible price points
• Consideration of both fine art and crafts
• Variety of media

Open to all DMV artists! Whether you're a seasoned maker or new to the Arts Barn community, we’d love to see your work.
