When former WWF wrestler, Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake made an appearance in Gaffney, South Carolina there were lots of local fans flocking to meet him and get his autograph. But there was one huge fan who couldn't make it. Jeff McFalls, one of Gaffney's biggest Professional wrestling fans has Lou Gehrigs disease and has become totally paralyzed. Knowing of his desire to meet a professional wrestler in person, Brooke Guthrie, Hospice Care of South Carolina Social Worker, went into action. Reaching out to local Friends and Carolina Christian Championship Wrestling organizers, she was able to help make Jeff's dream a reality.
Saturday afternoon before the scheduled match, Brutus made a special visit to the McFalls home and spent some time hamming it up with Jeff and his family. Brutus signed autographs, left some DVDs and even signed Jeff's guitar. Jeff was thrilled to get to see an actual championship belt and joked, "it's much heavier than I thought!"
Jeff's wife, Kathey said this day is one they will never forget. She added, "This is just unbelievable that Brutus would do this for Jeff. We are so thankful for Brooke and all of the Hospice Care of South Carolina staff that care so much for him." Kathey also wanted to thank Carolina Christian Championship Wrestling.
