With the winter weather, many enjoy using space heaters as a way to help keep warm. However, these devices can pose fire hazards if not used properly.

Use our space heater safety tips below so that you and your family can warm up safely this winter.

As always, it's important to remember that smoke alarms save lives. Smoke alarms should be placed on every level of your home and outside of bedrooms. Check your smoke alarms monthly by pressing the test button and replace any smoke alarm over 10 years old.

Winter Weather is HERE!!

FHA Residents -
* Remember to keep a little water running (just a slow steady stream)
*Open cabinet doors under the sink
*Keep windows and door closed as much as possible
*Make sure your batteries in your thermostat are good (low batt or battery on the screen means you need to put in a work order to get them replaced)
*Please make sure space heaters are plugged directly in a wall outlet. NO EXTENSION CORDS OR POWER STRIPS.
* DO NOT USE YOUR OVEN FOR HEAT!

Please be patient with our snow removal team. They will be very busy and VERY cold. They will get everything cleared as quickly as possible. FHA has several parking lots and even more sidewalks. Please be kind to them, they will get to you as quickly as they can.

If you have an emergency please call or text the FHA Emergency line (573) 220-1407. (Be patient with our maintenance guys too, they may have to dig themselves out to get to you) 😱

Stay safe and Stay warm!
