Designing florals for weddings, events, and everyday beauty

08/28/2026

I’ve been asked a few times where the name Wild Aster Floral came from, so I thought I’d share. 💜

Asters have always been one of my favorite flowers, and I love that they’re native to Garrett County. When I was looking for a name, Wild Aster just felt right. I wanted something that felt natural, a little wild, and full of personality, just like the flowers and designs I love most.

And when it came time to name the next chapter of this little business, Aster & Press felt like the perfect fit. The aster is still there, just now paired with my love of books and all the other things I’m excited to bring together. 💐📚

We’re excited to finally be making progress and share the news - our storefront, Aster & Press will officially open its doors on October 1st! 🌿📚🌸(Barring any further unexpected delays!)
Right now, we’re busy behind the scenes collecting inventory, choosing books, and finding special items to fill the shelves. We want Aster & Press to feel like a place created for our community - a shop where you can find fresh flowers, thoughtfully chosen books, unique gifts, local creations, and a cozy place to slow down and enjoy the little things.
So we want to hear from you! 📖
What kinds of books would you love to see on our shelves?
Do you have a favorite genre, author, or a book you think everyone should read? Drop your recommendations below - we’d love your input as we build our collection!

Allow us to introduce the newest (and first!) member of the team... Eo. 🐾💕
She’s our Chief Greeter, Head of Morale, Professional Nap Supervisor, and self-appointed Quality Control Manager. If you’re lucky, she’ll be there to welcome you when you stop by.
(And yes... her name is Eo. We borrowed it from a sci-fi series because we loved the name. 😉)
She has some exciting news to share...
We officially got the go-ahead from the Fire Marshal! 🎉 It’s a huge milestone and another step toward opening our doors.
This journey has taken a little longer than we expected, but every inspection, repair, and approval gets us closer to creating the cozy flower shop and bookstore we’ve been dreaming about.
Thank you to everyone who’s followed along, encouraged us, and believed in this little dream. We can’t wait to welcome you into Aster & Press very soon.
Until then, expect plenty of updates... and, of course, plenty of Eo. 🌿📚💐🐶

We’re getting closer to opening the doors of Aster & Press and are optimistically hoping to welcome our first customers this August! 📚🌿💐
We’re currently looking for local vendors, artists, makers, authors, and creators who would like to showcase their work in our Friendsville shop. We love thoughtfully made goods, unique gifts, pottery, jewelry, art, etc!
If you’re interested in becoming a vendor, send us a message or email us with information about your products. We’d love to hear from you! Please tag anyone that may also be interested 💕
Thank you for all the support and encouragement as we work through the final steps of bringing this dream to life. We can’t wait to share the space with you soon. 💜

Quick update on Aster & Press and Wild Aster Floral 🌿📚

Our opening timeline has been delayed as additional repairs were discovered in the Maple Street building. What started as a few flooring concerns turned into larger projects that need to be completed before we can safely open.

We’re committed to doing this the right way and will open as soon as the work is finished and the necessary inspections are approved. Thank you for your patience and support — we can’t wait to welcome you into the space. 💜

- Tables of all shapes and sizes
- Air Conditioners (minimum 10,000 BTU)
- Unique shelving
- Workbenches
- Plant Stands
- Large commercial cooler - beverage or floral
- Kitchen Island / Cart on wheels

If you have anything else that you think would go well in a retail/ flower store setting, I'm open to all ideas!

Introducing the new space for Aster & Press,
the soon to be home base for Wild Aster.
After some very needed work on the building (and a whole lot of paint), this little idea is slowly coming to fruition - and I wanted to share it the way it’s meant to feel: warm, a little imperfect, and rooted in community.
Aster & Press will be a blend of things I love - books, flowers, and thoughtfully made goods from local artists and makers. Somewhere you can wander, pick up a novel, grab a bouquet, and maybe discover something you didn’t know you needed.
There will be a small, donation-based coffee cart (because everyone deserves a good cup, no matter what), a few cozy spots to sit and work if you need a change of scenery, and space to create - journal, sketch, or just let your mind breathe for a bit.
More than anything, I want it to feel like a place you can exist in. Not rushed, not pressured - just welcome.
We’re not quite ready yet - but after a lot of work behind the scenes, Maple street in Friendsville will look a little different this summer!
Coming soon 💐📚 &press
