The global cut flower industry was hit hard this past year by the pandemic shut downs prevented so many field workers from working - one result lack of pesticides sprays= loss of crop. Recently I heard a quote out of Mke wholesaler 1 peony for a florist is $7.99... of course you have to buy it in bunches of 5 . And florist have to mark that stem up for their labor and overhead= a $14-21 stem. Already flower farms are offering bulk shipment of 25 peony stems for $125 plus shipping.

**from seed -to harvest - to import and the sprays added upon arrival to country destination those imported flowers have already made their unkind environmental mark. I encourage all who love flowers to get them locally.

Last Week to sign up for OUR peony Bouquet Subscription. I will host a couple of DIY but I very well could be selling stems to florist knowing they are in high demand. So if you want some don’t wait till the last minute.
Our website is in our bio or pm me.

Happy New Year All... pretty late I guess in greeting but definitely wanting you all to have a fantastic 2021.
Seeds are steadily arriving, fall tulips are all tucked in garden spaces .. beginning our ranunculous and anemone flowers now.... just wishing we had more premium greenhouse space.
2020 was quite the interesting year. We had a great year locally in some aspects despite weddings being down. Having our two kids at home was good but also at times challenging - gardening and keeping kids engaged with productive and fun activities from March thru August when kids stay home predominately had its own tricks and challenges .. caring for kids and working at the same time really had us once again looking at different approaches, perspectives that our farm and family needs to make it all successful. One conclusion is less time driving means more time either being productive or spending meaningful time with our family. Where as working and distributing our flowers and vegetables as locally as possible is preferred by us. Creating events on our farm too is what we enjoy : 2021 Flowet Bar bookings are open now. Minimum of 8 attendants - that is you and 7 friends at our beautiful farm under a handcrafted timber frame in our garden making bouquets !! Our farm is surrounded by over 1000 acres of Natural Habitat along the Milwaukee Watershed area.. come enjoy our gardens, our hilltop with 360 degree views and the splendor of nature while making in season fresh bouquets !! Or I can deliver the flowers to you and do it in your own back yard with your own tools and hardware. Available Friday afternoons, Saturdays & Sunday too.
And we are hosting our single hill top campsite for our 6th season through Hipcamp . Enjoy a private campsite looking over the Milwaukee River Watershed area without sharing bathrooms at all. Just a space for you and your group with lakes , trails all in walking distance or a couple of miles nearby... perfect for families , friends reuniting or bicyclist who want a ez place for the night. We love sharing our beautiful farm with others so camping or creating bouquets at our farm sounds sweet. If you are a camper we offer as a extra to harvest your own bouquet to take home. Hipcamp Star host now for 5 years!! Thank you all who support our local farms!!

Hoping to sell more peony roots from our peony stock in the autumn 2021. So many new cultivars creating a continual slack jaw moment. This catalogue arrived yesterday. Hi All if you have not heard our farm is participating in this REKO RING group! We will be offering our veggies, herbs and flowers in this Facebook group. Come join and support your local farmers while eating and enjoying the freshest stuff around.
Crops are coming in and more being planted.

The Ozaukee Area Reko Ring has almost 500 group members!!!

This is AMAZING!!!! THANK YOU so much for sharing our group with your friends and family. It has only been nine days since we launched but WOW!!!!! What an incredible response we have received from the community!!

For those of you who are unaware of what, The Ozaukee Area Reko Ring is, let me explain it to you.

A Reko ring is essentially an online farmer’s market. Reko is Swedish and translates to mean, “fair consumption”
Reko Rings were created in Finland three years ago and the concept has taken off and become quite successful through out Europe.

Last week Thursday was our groups very first pick up. Everything went EXTRAORDINARILY well. The pick ups were smooth and easy. Most people did not even have to get out of their vehicles. Pick up was fast and efficient and all pick ups were complete in less than an hours time.

If you would like to become a member of, The Ozaukee Area Reko Ring, I have included the link below. Click on the link and ask to be invited to the group.

Orders for the week close on Tuesday at midnight. Pick up for orders placed is on Thursday from 3-4pm in Grafton at Lime Kiln Park. We meet in the upper parking lot near the pavilion and the bridge.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Thank you all so much for supporting local, organic agriculture!!

(The picture below, is one that a customer posted of all the items she purchased last week at our first Reko Ring meet up)

Our Story

Waggle Dance Flowers grows heirloom and specialty flowers using organic and biodynamic gardening strategies at Willoway Farm. Permaculture techniques are also practiced on farm. We honor the honey bee in our name because our honey bees are an integral part of our farm at Willoway Farm. Jacqueline of Waggle Dance flowers has done flower arrangements and grown specialty flowers for the past 8 years. waggle Dance also incorporates native foliage and flowers in arrangments for the even more green and nature appreciated floral arrangements. We never use herbicides or pesticides on our property. We value lots of native plants and have them intertwined throughout our property which in turn enhances the loral deign pallet available.
