This year, we've hit over 2000 weddings. Not gigs, JUST weddings. I'm well over double that amount in terms of every event I have had the privilege to be a part of. Well, your wedding deserves more than someone who simply plays music. It deserves someone who understands how to create moments your family and friends will talk about for the rest of their lives. That's what I do.
Yes, I've been trained in being a Club DJ, A Mobile DJ, and a Radio DJ. Three COMPLETELY different types, ways, styles, skillsets, and approaches when it comes to music and MC'ing. I used to get asked to DJ someone's wedding while I'm spinning in a club. That used to crack me up as a Club DJ is completely different than a Wedding one. Not even close to being the same.
The truth is, there is a massive difference between a club DJ and a true Wedding DJ — and most people don’t realize it until they experience it firsthand.
In a nightclub, the crowd already arrives ready to get down with their bad selves, lol. They wanna dance & socialize. Most people are similar in age, the music usually follows a theme for the night, and the entire environment is built for partying from the very beginning.
A wedding is completely different.
A wedding is one of the only moments in life where multiple generations, personalities, and emotions all come together in one room. Grandparents, lifelong friends, little kids, coworkers, college roommates, and your biggest party crowd are all sharing the same experience together. And somehow, every single person should feel included, connected, and part of the celebration.
That’s where the art of a wedding entertainer truly begins. They're not just a "DJ".
A great Wedding DJ doesn’t just mix songs. They guide the entire emotional flow of the evening. They know when to create elegance, when to create excitement, and when to turn the room into an unforgettable celebration. They know how to read a room and be ready to change anything or adapt on the fly to any given situation.
One moment, they’re making meaningful announcements with confidence and warmth. Next, they’re coordinating seamlessly with photographers, planners, caterers, and venue staff to keep everything flowing perfectly behind the scenes. Then suddenly, they transform the atmosphere into a packed dance floor where people who would normally never listen to the same music are laughing, singing, and celebrating together. That's an Art and a very special learned craft.
That’s not luck. That’s experience. And I was fortunately taught all 3 styles of DJ'n by some incredible people and entertainers in each industry up in New York. AND got the opportunity to entertain some very high-profile people, celebrities, and venues. WOW! Do I have stories, lol.
So basically, wedding entertainment is about reading the room, understanding energy, managing timelines, and creating once-in-a-lifetime memories within just a few short hours. There are no second chances on a wedding day. Every transition matters. Every moment matters. Every song matters.
At Bill Carroll Entertainment, we believe your wedding should feel effortless, emotional, exciting, and unforgettable from beginning to end, and with all of the additional services we offer, we strive to stand out amongst the best of them.
Because years from now, people may not remember every detail of the decorations or the menu…
…but they will always remember how your wedding made them feel.
