**** Race Report Time****
This past weekend Ashley and I went to Leaned Out Raceway for the the fifth round of the Virginia Off- Road Championship Series- VCS and Mad Maddys Birthday race.
With this being the second to last race of the series, and the last VCS I'll be able to make. I needed to do my best.
Qualifying started out ok and got better as the day went out.
E-buggy I would qualify second in the B main for the Expert class. E-truggy I took TQ in qualifier round 3 with a 13 lap run.
Nitro buggy I landed myself in P5.
Tires I settled on for the buggy mains were AKA Products Inc. Medium Longwear Lux
I had an great battle for the bump spot in the Bmain of Ebuggy with Daivd Saunders. With a lap and half to go I took the inside line and made contact with his car. Flipping him. As a good racer, I waited for him to be marshalled and got back to racing. But unfortunately I would finish P3 and not get the bump.
Etruggy, starting at the top spot! I held first for the majority of the race but made a couple bobbles and let Steve Boggs by. We had a great battle and created a large gap from the rest of the field. Unfortunately my battery would dump with 1 lap to go. Steve pulled away and I just barely crossed the finish line in 2nd. Was another awesome race to watch I'm sure!
The race day went long and the last race of the night was under the lights, nitro buggy racing. For some reason the loop was not picking up our transponders very well. Josh Lyall did a great job keeping count of the laps and drivers positioning. The loop would start working again at some point, and it helpt to verify drivers positioning. I finished 4th. Big thank you to Anthony Rc & Chris Chapman for the pit work!
Rusty Mihelich & Stacey Mihelich for hosting another great event! Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you for all the sponsors that help keep me on the track and improving my driving abilities!
