What an incredible and heartfelt day at The Carolina Manor House. ❤️

Recently, and reached out to us from San Diego with a very special project. After the passing of Chris’s father, Gerardo, a 20-year U.S. Navy veteran who courageously battled Stage 4 sarcoma cancer, they were looking for the perfect place to honor his life and legacy through music.

They chose The Carolina Manor House as the setting for this heartfelt tribute, and to perform his favorite songs.

Today, Chris, Hillary, and Gracen filmed a memorial video featuring live performances of some of Gerardo’s favorite songs, including classics like Tears in Heaven, Landslide, Fire and Rain, Hotel California, and Time in a Bottle.

Gerardo’s story touched millions after Chris surprised him with a special Eagles concert experience during his cancer journey. Now, this new project will continue sharing his memory, his love of music, and the impact he had on everyone around him.

One of the most touching moments of their visit happened away from the cameras. Because The Carolina Manor House is veteran-owned, we had the opportunity to take Chris and Hillary to visit the Veterans Memorial in downtown Franklinton. Together, we reflected on Gerardo’s service and legacy, and we will be honoring him by adding his name to the memorial. It was an incredibly meaningful moment and a reminder that the impact of a life well lived reaches far beyond family alone.

We are deeply honored that Chris and Hillary trusted The Carolina Manor House to be part of such a meaningful tribute. Meeting this wonderful family and hearing Gerardo’s story is something we will never forget.
