We lost Dolly.
Not just a star. A legend. A Locust Ridge girl who came out of a cabin with nothing but a voice and a heart big enough to hold the rest of us. She made poor look proud. She made glitter feel like gospel. She made you believe a song could walk into a room and sit down beside you.
She said, “If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
Well. It’s raining.
And she also said, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” So that is what we are going to do.
The Horseshoe Lounge is celebrating the life and legacy of Dolly Parton.
