We offer skiing, snowboarding & tubing in the winter and host wedding and events during the summer Ownership Change from ROC Ventures to Schmitz Brothers, LLC in July 2017. ROC Ventures, owner and developer of The Rock Sports Complex in Franklin, WI, has announced a purchase agreement and long-term lease with Schmitz Brothers, LLC, operators of Little Switzerland and Nordic Mountain. rothers group will take over snow park operations at The Rock.

“We are excited to be a part of all of the exciting changes at The Rock. The Snowpark has some excellent ski terrain, a great tubing park, and immense potential for school groups, freestyle terrain parks, racing, and beginner programs,” stated Rick Schmitz, one of the owners of Schmitz Brothers. “There are many synergies with our two existing ski areas.” Schmitz stated that Little Switzerland and The Rock will have a joint season pass, meaning customers will be able to ski at either area and that for a small premium they can upgrade to a pass that includes Nordic Mountain.

New arrivals! Two more TechnoAlpin fan guns added to the fleet as well as 500’ of snowmaking pipe for some much needed repairs. We can’t wait to add these guns in and see them at work. It’s summer time, so let’s keep thinking about making winter better ❄️

Things are pretty green around here, and summer maintenance keeps on rolling 👊 Whitnall Way now features a patio area at the bottom for some Aprés, fire pits and soaking up the sun. This will also serve for a much nicer viewing area for high school ski races. We’ve upgraded our ski patrol area to better support our growing volunteer patrol, while doubling as a nicer bridal suite for summer weddings 👊

On May 14th, we lost John — the man who started it all. A kind, caring, and genuine soul with a passion for skiing and getting kids outside. From speedways to fill sites to building a ski hill from the ground up, John always kept busy. Even at 92 years of age and he was still determined to get back on skis! Thanks for sharing your passion with the Midwest scene and giving Milwaukee County an outlet for winter recreation. We will keep the chair spinning for ya!
