Carousel Theatre Back in the 60's I worked at the Carousel Theater in Framingham, MA. Believe it or not, Framingham, Mass used to be quite the entertainment hub.

Everyone for Joan Rivers and Jerry Lewis, Simon & Garfunkel to Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa to Tom Jones played there. Me and some close friends set it up, ran it and took it down every year until 1969 when they closed. The place started my career and it was the best job I ever had!

Doing a tribute to the first of the great music festivals, the 1967 Monterey International Pop Festival that was held from June 16th-18th. Will be playing tunes taken from the actual set lists from that weekend featuring the Dead, Jefferson Airplane, the Byrds, Lou Rawls, the Animals, Hendrix, the Who, Mamas and Papas, Buffalo Springfield, Moby Grape, Quicksliver, Steve Miller, Country Joe, Simon & Garfunkle, Canned Heat, and more. Gonna be a cool flash from the past so get out your tie dyed shirt, beads, fringed vest, bell bottoms, bandanas and whatever turns you on and join me on Sunday ... promise it will be Groovy Man!

The first time I went to Carousel was with my Dad. He took me to see Duke Ellington. Dad used to play saxophone around New Bedford and Nantucket. He played with Paul Gonzalez who was playing in the Dukes band. Met Duke with my first backstage visit. Few years later I was working there.

I actually went to the Carousel to buy tickets for the show and saw a "help wanted" sign. I applied
and worked there for
3 1/2 years. At the theater hadn't closed in 69 I probably still be working there!
