Every life is a story worth telling. At Greenwood Funeral Homes and Cremation, we believe that honoring a loved one goes far beyond a ceremony — it is about celebrating who they truly were.

That is why we offer tribute videos, memorial websites, beautiful florist arrangements, and peaceful cemetery grounds spread across hundreds of acres of natural beauty. Whether you are looking for a graveside service, a place of reflection in one of our mausoleums, or a meaningful floral tribute, we are here to help you create something truly special.

Honoring Our Heroes: Peace Officers Memorial Day
Peace Officers Memorial Day, observed annually in the United States on May 15, serves as a solemn tribute to the federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. Each year, approximately 140 to 160 officers make the ultimate sacrifice, leaving behind families, friends, and colleagues to navigate the profound impact of their loss.

The observance was established on October 1, 1961, when Congress requested that the President designate May 15 to honor these brave men and women. President John F. Kennedy officially signed the proclamation into law on October 1, 1962.

At GREENWOOD, we stand in solidarity with those who have given their lives or been disabled while protecting our communities. We honor their service and sacrifice, and we encourage everyone to join us in pausing to reflect on their legacy of courage and dedication.
