Couples usually spend about 10% of their wedding budget on floral arrangements. Fresh flowers definitely brightens your wedding day, but we always suggest to give them away to guests or even local charities. It will surely brighten their day! Many of our couples repurpose their florals and send them to local nursing homes.

Once you determine your wedding budget, be sure to allocate at least 5-10% of your funds to "surprise" expenses such as extra meals or extra invites. Maybe you might consider buying umbrellas for guests if it rains on your wedding day. Whatever the situation- be sure to have some extra money in hand just in case you need it!

Today’s is to “number your RSVP cards”. Guests tend to forget to add their names to the RSVP or they forget to include their names on the envelopes. It can get tedious trying to figure out which guest responded if they did not address it correctly. Our advice is to number the cards before mailing them! You can do this on the back of the card to help keep track of those who don’t write their names or forget to respond.

Today’s is to enjoy the wedding planning process. Imagine planning a wedding without a professional wedding planner!!! It can still be stressful even if you hire one. You have to worry about your dress, shoes, nails, etc. But that does not mean you shouldn’t enjoy the process! As Elizabeth McKellar states, “A wedding is a micro vision of the larger macro vision of life. The time couples spend wedding planning allows them to decide how they want to navigate familial traditions, cultures, expectations, and needs as they transition into their new lives as their own family. It’s important to see this time can be an adventure, rather than a stressful experience!”. It’s okay to take a break from all the wedding stuff, but remember to enjoy the journey leading up to your special day!

Today’s is to not forget to break into your wedding heels (or shoes)! It may seem unnecessary to do this, but remember- it’s one step closer to being comfortable on your big day! This will provide more ease to dance around than wearing a pair of heels that is yet to be unpacked. Wear your heels around the house for about 30 minutes or so during the week before your wedding. Another good tip is to blast them with your hairdryer! The hot air allows the shoes to stretch making it easier to break into them quicker.
