Keith House is the home of The Keith Skyspace, 2023, by artist James Turrell. When it opens in Fall 2023, the building and surrounding two acres will provide a welcoming space for moments of peace and contemplation. Daily at sunrise and sunset, weather permitting, the roof of Keith House will open to reveal an enchanting play between the sky’s changing light and light cast onto the ceiling. Visito

rs will watch from benches arrayed around the opening. In case of inclement weather, the roof will remain closed and another, equally fascinating display will take place. Other times of day, Keith House will be available for non-profits and community groups to host meetings, programs, events, and conversations. Keith House and The Keith Skyspace are a gift to the people of Fort Worth from Meta Alice Keith Bratten (1926–2007) through Entrada of Texas, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organized in 2018.

Giving starts TODAY!

Keith House is a modern-day meeting house and the site of Come to Good, a commissioned work of art by renowned light and space artist James Turrell. The non-denominational building is built in the style of a Quaker meeting house and designed to encourage reflection, creative expression and community dialogue.

Contributions help underwrite programmatic initiatives, non-profit meeting expenses, and low-cost visits to Keith House.

On view now through October 10 — the work of Stella Alesi, on loan from Artspace 111. Her luminous paintings, rich in color and fluid in composition, are a natural dialogue with James Turrell's Come to Good. Open during Come to Good hours and by appointment.

Stella Alesi works across drawing, painting, collage, photography, and large-scale wall pieces, and, in every medium, tests what art is allowed to be. Stella's practice embraces failure as a generative force, a deliberate challenge to the systems of "taught" art and the institutions that uphold them.

A recipient of the Brown Foundation Fellowship and a resident of the Vermont Studio Center, Alesi has spent 25 years building a body of work held in private and commercial collections across the country. Simplify, a large scale piece, was installed at The Foundry in Austin in 2019.

This week at Keith House: the Trailblazers and Cowtown chapters of National Charity League graciously donated a cumulative 57 hours of hard work on the Keith House campus. NCL is a philanthropic organization of mothers and daughters who donate three million hours annually (!!) to over 6,000 charities in the US. We are incredibly grateful to these women who not only did an exceptional service to Keith House, but did so with joy and great camaraderie. Sugar Bear, Keith House's official cheer squad leader, was on hand to supervise and deliver kisses.

We're back and ready to greet August with special events and regular viewings of James Turrell's Skyspace. The Portal returns for their monthly movement and meditation session, and Narrative Loom is hosting a creative writing workshop.

Come to Good viewings at Sunset and Sunrise as always, are offered regularly.

Today would have been Meta Alice Keith Bratten's 100th birthday. In this photograph, she sits next to her daughter Adelaide, who has carried her mother's legacy forward ever since. That stewardship remains the foundation Keith House stands on.
