We have so many new people following along lately, and I realized a lot of you probably have no idea who we actually are 😂
So… hi!! We’re the family behind The Cardinal.
I’m Michelle. I figured out a little later in life that I really, really love cooking, feeding people and hosting. So because apparently I don’t know how to do anything halfway, I host themed women's dinners somewhat monthly with •table eleven•, I’m now in culinary school at Auguste Escoffier AND we, as of April 2026 own a Bed & Breakfast. 😂
Michael is my husband. We have been together for 18 years.He’s an Army veteran, a commercial A/V project manager here in DFW and the one who gets stuck figuring out how to make all of my random ideas actually happen.
Mitchell is my special needs brother. Mitch aka James Bond has Pervasive Delayed Developmental Disorder. We became his guardians in 2019 after my parents passed away, and honestly, he’s a huge part of why The Cardinal works for our family. I am his full time caregiver and this gives us something we can all be a part of together.
Then there’s Cash, 11 a local middle schooler who loves art, his best friends, and picking on his younger rocker and actor brother Austin, 9 who also attends a local elementary school. They’ve basically been dragged into this adventure whether they like it or not. 😂 They help, they taste test, they complain, they eat the food… you know, employees of the year!
And then there’s Brandon, 25, who lives in California and has very conveniently an entire life far away from the family business 😂. But when he comes to visit, we fully intend to put him to work. No free vacations at The Cardinal, sir.
And that’s us....
Just a woman going through finding who she is who had a crazy idea and decided to go for it and an incredible family who supports me every step of the way!
We’re still learning. Still figuring things out. Still changing things constantly.
But we love this little place and what it’s becoming!
