But what happens when a child doesn't have someone at home to teach them how to nourish themselves?

At Out of a Jam, we don't just want to feed kids—we want to teach and transform them, too. ❤️
Teaching young people how to prepare healthy meals using basic ingredients builds confidence, encourages them to try new things, and gives them skills they can use for life.

Because a meal can fill a stomach... but knowing how to nourish yourself can help transform a life. 🍽️

Out of a Jam is excited to be a part of the Indiana Hunger Summit happening next week!

The second annual Indiana Hunger Summit will be held on September 2, 2026, with programming at hubs in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Evansville. There is a nominal fee of $25 to offset lunch expense, and scholarships are available if needed. Register today at https://www.agriinstitute.org/events/2026-hunger-summit/

Date: Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM (EDT).

About the 2026 Indiana Hunger Summit: The one-day statewide event will bring together all parts of the food chain to tackle food insecurity through collaborative and actionable solutions. The program explores how to create pathways out of poverty, ensure every Hoosier has access to nutritious food, and nourish communities across Indiana.

Who should attend: Participants span all parts of the food chain: National, regional, state, and local thought leaders; food program administrators and government officials; food system growers, producers, buyers, and distributors; and grass roots organizations, Board members, and volunteers. The program offers opportunities to foster innovative partnerships and drive collective solutions across all parts of the food chain.

Locations: The 2026 Summit convenes at three locations, incorporating statewide programming and interaction alongside site-specific innovation showcases and discussions on local priorities.
· Central Hub: Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indianapolis
· Northern Regional Hub: Purdue University, Fort Wayne
· Southern Regional Hub: University of Southern Indiana, Evansville

Our 2025 auction winners got transported. To Italy 👏 or maybe the Kaufman backyard 🤷‍♀️
It was a pretty incredible 8-course fine dining experience that we’re going to be thinking about for a while. 🍝🍷✨

We can’t wait to share more from this AMAZING evening—but for now, just know our auction winners were very well fed. ❤️

We are so grateful for incredible partners like United Way of Allen County and their dedication to serving the City of Fort Wayne in so many of the same areas we care deeply about. ❤️

Many members of their team have volunteered in our kitchen, and today, we are cheering on everyone who stepped out to serve during the Day of Caring!

We hope and pray the day was safe, successful, and filled with reminders of what can happen when a community comes together to care for one another.

Thank you to every person who gave their time today to make a difference in our city! 🙌❤️

Our new friends from Saint Francis University spent three days volunteering with us this week. ❤️
What were they doing, you ask?
Well... that's classified. 😂
We can't share all the details of their top-secret mission, but we can tell you that it was very fun and very exciting.
Before the heaviness of classes, assignments, exams, and the inevitable “Wait... that was due TODAY?!” moments begin, these students chose to give their time to serve others.
