Benjamin Franklin said, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” Learning to manage money successfully is extremely important, yet incredibly difficult without basic financial literacy. The library will join with Chambers Bank to share the importance of practicing saving at a young age. 🍋 Fort Kids Lemonade Stand Challenge

Saturday, September, 13 | 9-11 AM at The Bakery District

Calling all young entrepreneurs! In this hands-on event, students in grades K–5 will learn what it takes to build, brand, and run the BEST lemonade stand in town. Through fun activities, teamwork, and creative challenges, kids will explore the world of entrepreneurship while building confidence and real-world skills.

What We’ll Do:
• Plan the Product – Dream up your perfect lemonade recipe (pop rocks, nerds, strawberries… you decide!).
• Brand Your Stand – Design a name, signs, and style that grabs attention.
• Master Marketing – Get creative with promotions, pricing, and customer service.
• Business Basics – Practice money math, making change, and tracking profits.
• Launch & Sell – After the class, participants will have one week to set up and run their stand in their neighborhood or community spot (with permission).

The Big Celebration:

The following Saturday, all participants are invited to a Lemonade Stand Celebration Party at the Bakery District to share stories, celebrate success, and, if they choose, donate profits to Fort Kids Children’s Museum to help bring more play and learning to our community.

• Communication & teamwork
• Marketing & money management
• Confidence & leadership

By the end of the challenge, each participant will have the tools, confidence, and know-how to run a successful lemonade stand and the chance to make a difference while having fun!

We are looking for teens and young adults ages 16-20 to join our Public Safety Cadet Program! 🌟👮‍♀️🚒

This program is designed to showcase what a career in law enforcement or as a first responder will be like through hands-on activities, guest speakers, and so much more. Email [email protected] for more information!

Cadets are required to have and maintain a 2.0 GPA and have transportation for classes. Classes are twice a month – Wednesday evening and Saturday morning.

Sunday is a big day for my campaign! 📝

To get my name on the ballot for Circuit Court Judge on March 3rd, I need to get 1,033 registered voters in Sebastian County to sign these petitions starting Sunday. I have only 60 days to do it!

I am really looking forward to the oppprtunity to get out in our community and talk with you all as I work to collect signatures!

If you don’t mind taking a page or two and helping me fill these babies up with signatures, I would be tremendously grateful! Just let me know and I’ll bring you a set.

I just wanted to say thank you to all the wonderful and kind people we’ve been meeting along the campaign trail this summer. My family and I have really enjoyed getting to know you all and having the chance to meet new friends along the way.
