Ashley and Morgan Mayfaire

passion for community organizing and social justice issues has led to their current role in non-profit management. After experiencing firsthand the barriers their husband, Morgan, faced during his gender transition from female to male, Ashley and Morgan co-founded TransSOCIAL, Inc. to build a network of resources and support for the Trans community. Ashley frequently speaks on educational panels and is constantly creating new curricula for TransSOCIALโ€™s TLGBQ+ Cultural Sensitivity Training for businesses, healthcare providers, and universities, making sure that they are compliant with federal non-discrimination guidelines and creating safer and affirming spaces for Trans people to access care and public accommodations.

They engage the community in HIV prevention and treatment efforts by participating in the South Florida AIDS Network. Ashley and Morgan have consulted for many Trans-focused research projects. Ashley is an alumna of Massachusetts College of Art and Design. When Ashley has any free time, Ashley is creating art or tending to their furry and feathered children. When Morgan is not busy using his visibility as a Trans man to educate others about the Trans experience, you can find green thumb Morgan tending to his orchid collection

Thank you, TransSOCIAL, Ashley, and Morgan Mayfaire for your unconditional love and countless hours helping our Trans community

PRESIDENTS DAY๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ
On the third Monday in February, the United States celebrates the federal holiday known as Presidents' Day. The day takes place during the birth month of the country's two most prominent presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. While the day once only honored President George Washington on his birthday, February 22nd, the day now never lands on a single president's birthday.

Across the country, most Americans know the day as Presidents' Day. More and more of the population celebrates the day to honor all of the past United States Presidents who have served the country. Throughout the country, organizations and communities celebrate the day with public ceremonies.

NATIONAL STRESS AWARENESS DAY
National Stress Awareness Day on the first Wednesday in November aims to identify and reduce the stress factors in your life.

Everyone has stress. Some stress is good for us. It helps us to respond to changes in life. Stress is our body's way of protecting itself from harm. However, too much stress causes harm to our health and relationships.

Identifying the stressors impacting our physical and mental health is important. Sometimes, health problems are the cause. But our health can also be affected by external stressors such as physical abuse, stressful work environments, financial stress, or other family health issues.

NOSHAVEMBER
NoSHAVEmber is an annual designation observed in November. During this time, men and women all across the United States put down their razors, trimmers, and shears to let their hair grow shamelessly. That's right, all (or at least most) body hair goes untouched by blades this month, and what many people don't know is, it's all for a good cause.

NoSHAVEmber, also known as No Shave November, was created with a goal in mind to raise awareness about different kinds of cancer and to donate the money you would typically spend on a haircut or facial groom to cancer research charities. So, this month, everyone is encouraged to come together for this growing campaign and let the hair grow wild and free!

NATIONAL ANIMAL SHELTER APPRECIATION WEEK
๐Ÿ•๐Ÿฉ
National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week recognizes the shelters providing care that bridges the gap to adoption for millions of abandoned and stray animals. The event takes place each year during the first full week in November. The observance also acknowledges the hard-working people who support the efforts of the shelters and keep pets healthy.
Even though dogs and cats are some of the most beloved pets in the United States, pet homelessness is a huge problem in the country. There are about 70 million stray animals in the United States. Up to 8 million of these animals end up in shelters. There are 3,500 animal shelters in the country. Itโ€™s at these animal shelters that pets receive a second chance. According to the ASPCA, over 3 million shelter animals are adopted each year.
