Villa Woodbine was the most breathtaking backdrop for a day that was nothing short of a fairy tale. Warm dark pinks, subtle lavenders, golden yellows, and soft ivory — three royal tables dressed in the most magnificent scaling floral arrangements that left every guest in awe. 🌸💛

But the moment that made everything? Dancing in the rain in the historic courtyard with the good tunes and even better company. Nobody left the dance floor. Not one person. 🌧️🕺

A smooth wedding day doesn't happen by accident — it's planned. Here's what throws couples off the most: ⏰

1️⃣ Hair & makeup running over — Always schedule a trial AND build a 30-minute buffer into your getting-ready timeline.

2️⃣ Family photos taking forever — Give your photographer a must-have shot list AND assign a family member to wrangle people.

3️⃣ Cocktail hour food running out — If your guests are hungry, they get restless. Always overestimate on cocktail hour bites.

4️⃣ Late vendor arrivals — Your planner (hi, that's us 🙋) should have every vendor's contact info and confirm arrival times the week before.

Wedding timeline mistakes I see ALL the time as a planner ⏰ Save this and go check yours right now!

1. Not building in a buffer.
Timelines are written perfectly on paper but have zero wiggle room. One small delay — a late vendor, a missing boutonniere, a bride who needs a moment — and suddenly the whole day is running behind.

2. Underestimating getting ready time.
Hair and makeup almost always runs longer than expected, especially with a large bridal party. Always pad this more than you think you need to.

3. Forgetting travel time.
Between the venue, photo locations, and ceremony site there is often 20-30 minutes of driving that simply isn't accounted for. Those minutes add up fast.

4. Scheduling family formals right after the ceremony.
This leaves guests standing around with nothing to do, cocktail hour gets ignored, and the couple misses the one part of the day that was supposed to be fun and relaxed.

5. Not allocating enough time for the first look & couples portraits.
Couples almost always underestimate how long photos actually take and end up feeling rushed through one of the most important parts of the day.

Your final fitting is exciting — and also the appointment where most last-minute panic happens. Here's what to know going in.

Bring everything you're wearing on the day — your shoes, your undergarments, your veil, your shapewear.
Alterations are made based on what you have on. Show up without your shoes and the hem will be wrong.

Build in one more fitting if anything feels off — your final fitting should not be the first time you feel truly comfortable in your dress. If you leave with doubts, book one more. Most alterations can accommodate a small adjustment right up until 2 weeks before.

The dress will feel different standing for hours than it does in the fitting room — make sure you can breathe, raise your arms, sit down, and move comfortably. You'll be in it for 8+ hours.

Eat beforehand — this sounds obvious but fittings often take longer than expected and low blood sugar + a tight dress + standing still = not fun. Show up fed.

Take a video of yourself in the dress moving around — walking, hugging, dancing. The mirror in the fitting room shows you static. You need to see how it moves. You'll also want to watch it approximately 100 times before the wedding.
