Things your wedding planner wishes you knew before you start planning… 👀

1️⃣ Your guest count affects almost EVERYTHING.

Not just catering. Venue size, rentals, staffing, transportation, florals, stationery and more.

2️⃣ “Starting at $___” rarely means “This is what we'll pay.”

3️⃣ Pinterest inspiration doesn't automatically fit your venue, season or budget.

4️⃣ A beautiful outdoor ceremony needs an equally thoughtful rain plan.

5️⃣ Your vendors need time to set up.

“Venue access begins at 3:00” and “ceremony begins at 5:00” can become a very big problem.

6️⃣ Transportation takes longer than Google Maps says when you're moving 100 people.

7️⃣ Your photographer cannot magically photograph two things happening simultaneously in different locations.

8️⃣ Adding “just one more thing” twenty times adds up.

And perhaps the biggest one:

9️⃣ The earlier we know about a potential problem, the more options we have to solve it.

Your planner doesn't expect everything to be perfect.

We just want enough time to protect the experience.

Forget wedding colors for a minute.

Forget flowers.

Forget Pinterest.

Forget what's trending.

I want you to answer one question:

When your guests are driving home from your wedding, what do you want them talking about?

The food?

The party?

How beautiful everything looked?

How intimate it felt?

The entertainment?

How well they were taken care of?

How much the wedding felt like "you"?

There's no wrong answer.

But your answer should influence almost every major decision you make afterward.

Because when I design an event, I don't want to start with:

“What should it look like?”

I want to understand:

“What should it feel like?”

Then we design from there.

Sometimes a new revenue stream doesn't begin with a business plan.

Sometimes somebody simply asks:

“Do you do this for events?”

I originally began creating thoughtful gifts as part of how I nurture relationships in my own business.

Clients.

Vendors.

Properties I visit.

People who have supported A. Marie Events & Design.

Then during a hotel conversation, I was asked whether I could create this type of gifting for events.

My answer?

Absolutely.

And just like that, something I was already doing intentionally became another service.

Your wedding timeline shouldn't start with:

What time should hair and makeup begin?

That's actually one of the LAST things I need to determine.

I start with the things that can't move.

💍 Ceremony time
📸 Photography requirements
🌅 Sunset
🍽️ Dinner service
🎤 Formalities
🎶 Entertainment
🚐 Transportation
🏨 Venue access and end time

Then I work backward.

If your ceremony begins at 5:00 PM and you want couple portraits, wedding-party photos and family photos beforehand, photography determines when everyone needs to be dressed.

That determines when beauty services need to finish.

Which determines when they need to begin.

See what happened?

One decision affected everything before it.

That's why a professional wedding timeline isn't simply a list of times.

It's a logistical plan.

Imagine the five minutes immediately BEFORE you ask the question.

Where is your partner?

Where are you?

Where is the photographer?

Who has the ring?

What happens if you're early?
