Q: "Do you offer a 5 hour rate?"

A: 5 hour packages are for metro venues that do multiple weddings per day. Wisconsin weddings are generally 14 hours from when I roll out the door, set up at the venue, set up and perform the ceremony, return to the venue and rock the crowd until midnight, pack up and return home.

"5 hour package" rates are a bit of a marketing gimmick. Low price up front, overtime and upgrade fees in the end. We don't believe in games - you get the whole day with all the bells and whistles included from the first guest arriving until the last guest stumbles home exhausted!
All the lights, sound, production, planning and even the ceremony - if it's on site at your venue - are included! We won't ever do your event and cut it short to get to the next one. And guests never want to see sweaty assistants madly setting up in the middle of dinner hour after an eerily silent cocktail hour.

You get it all. One fair price. No shortcuts and no gimmicks.

FatBoyz FortAtkinson story time:

Originally FatBoyz was a bands-only biker bar. Tammy & Joe did karaoke, then I mentored with Jay there also doing karaoke. Things happened and I took over doing karaoke, but with a twist. I loved clubbing, so I added DJ and dancing. I decided to bring lighting to the mix.

John HATED it.

So I had to be artful by moving them off to the side and off the ceiling.

Soon, we had huge crowds bouncing the dance floor, lasers shooting out the front windows and they'd come rolling in like clockwork at 11pm, so I'd have to weave out the karaoke.

The singers were now pi**ed. They came for my attention to great sound, and had to wait while the dance floor emptied to sing again. I like to entertain everyone in the room and the staff surely weren't complaining about the money flowing from the dance crowd.

I had to market the show for what it now was by calling it a karaoke dance party!

Trouble is, we couldn't negotiate a raise. I left, and it went back to karaoke-only.

The crowds stopped coming, and we were begged back at a good price and it was on like donkey Kong. Every night at close the dance floor looked like a herd of water buffalo had stampeded through! We added security at my insistence. Year after year of good times and healthy profits. I was there EVERY Friday & Saturday.

The wedding business took off and we moved on, but you can still see the format we created being used every weekend here in multiple bars. I brought the dance floor back to Fort Atkinson, and I don't regret any of it!
