I have one wedding left. After 18 years of nonstop weddings.
Not one wedding left to work.
One wedding left connected to a place that held nearly two decades of my life.
And maybe that’s the strangest part of all.
The ending isn’t really about a business closing or ownership changing hands.
It’s about stepping away from a place where I was given a front row seat to thousands of moments I otherwise never would have known or expected.

A little self reflection lately has turned into a pretty big realization…

Nobody tells you how many lives you’ll live as a woman.

Mother.Builder.Survivor.Leader.Business owner.Caretaker.And now somehow… grandmother.

As I’ve stepped into this next season of life, I’ve realized that every chapter of my life — the hard ones, the beautiful ones, the exhausting ones, the successful ones — somehow led me exactly where I needed to be.

Not always where I planned.But where I was meant to grow next.

What started as quietly spending more time in Montana has naturally evolved into deeper conversations around community, hospitality, leadership, business, and purpose while still continuing to serve the incredible clients and businesses I’ve built relationships with throughout the hospitality and wedding industries over the years.

And maybe that’s the lesson in all of this:we do not have to abandon one version of ourselves to become another.

We are allowed to evolve.To expand.To begin again.To keep becoming.

Today:

Packed a bag
Recorded a podcast
Hopped on a flight
Landed in Portland
Got picked up by my firstborn

Now I’m here helping prepare for my first grandson.

No timelines. No chaos. No 200-person guest list.

Just family.

Life looks different these days… and I’m not mad about it.

It started with a favor.

Not a business plan.
Not a strategy.
Just a yes.

And somehow… that turned into 800+ weddings and multiple 7-figure businesses.

Most people miss their opportunity
because it doesn’t look important at the time.

It looks small.
Random.
Inconvenient.

But that’s how it starts.

There’s a version of burnout no one really talks about.

The one where everything is working.

You’re booked.
You’re making money.
You’ve built something real.

And yet… something feels off.

That was me.

I didn’t crash.
I didn’t quit.
I just kept going.

Until I realized success wasn’t going to tell me when it was time to shift.

I had to decide that for myself.

Never say never.

Back in 2008, people kept coming up to me saying
“I heard you’re doing weddings.”

We were not doing weddings.

Then came the Facebook messages.
Then the phone calls.
Then people asking to tour a place that wasn’t even a venue yet.

I spent months explaining why I would never do weddings.

Until one day… I got tired of explaining.

So I said fine.
Let’s do this—but we’re doing it my way.

No fake smiles.
No bridezilla energy.
No bending over backwards to please everyone.
No pretending to be some polished “wedding professional.”

Just me.

We threw up a name — The Farm.
Put together some cheap signs.
Signed up for a bridal show…

…and got zero leads.

Not one.

But Facebook?
That’s where it started.

The calls came in.
The tours started.
And people began booking a venue that—at the time—was just a barn.

No tables.
No chairs.
No help.
No clue what I was doing.

And somehow…

it worked.

Turns out, I wasn’t wrong about weddings.

I was wrong about myself.
And that changed everything.
I didn’t build my business by following the industry.
I built it by refusing to become it.

Identity Shift: Who Am I Without the Venue?

For 18 years, I wasn’t just a venue owner.

I was the woman behind the weekends.

Eighteen years of weddings.
Nearly every Saturday.
An average of 150 guests.
An average of 20 vendors per event.

Do the math.

That’s roughly:

810 weddings.
121,500 guests welcomed onto that property.
16,200 vendors coordinated, managed, collaborated with, and supported.

That’s not a hobby.
That’s not luck.
That’s legacy.

And here’s the part that surprises people:

I was completely ready to turn the page.
