The CED Planning Grant event takes place Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 112 W. Pike St., from 10 a.m. to noon.

We are so excited to host the inaugural Black Employers Showcase and Talents (B.E.S.T.). This event is intended to highlight local minority-owned and minority-led businesses by giving them a platform to showcase their organization to our racial/ethnic minority students, alumni, community members and friends. Our goal is to help increase the number of black students and early-career applicants in internships and jobs. While this event is open to everyone, we want to be extremely intentional about Black/African American students seeing people that look like them represented.
Proceeds will go toward programs, initiatives and scholarships for NKU Black/African American students.

I am excited to announce that I have officially submitted my paperwork and completed all steps to be considered for the vacant seat on the Florence City Council. This opportunity aligns with my passion for serving our community and contributing to the growth and development of Florence.

In accordance with Kentucky law (KRS 83A.040(5)), the Florence City Council has 30 days to appoint a new member to fill this vacancy. I am honored to be among those seeking this position and look forward to the opportunity to bring a dedicated and thoughtful perspective to the Council.

I encourage others who are interested and meet the qualifications to consider applying as well. For more details about the application process, please refer to the official announcement shared by the City of Florence.

Okay people we all know the roads are bad and many places will be closed tomorrow
Schools closed many business will be closed
Mail probably won't get delivered including FedEx UPS and possibly even Amazon

As we start to clean this mess up so that life can carry on do some a big solid or favor

As you shovel your driveways and sidewalks if your mailbox is on the curb clean around it
If you have a fire hydrant in your yard shovel 3 to 4 feet around it and about a 2 foot wide patch from the roadway to the hydrant. I know it's only 6 to 8 inches right now but every little bit helps as the wind will also be blowing the snow around. And remember to give plow trucks some help.
