Look What I Found!

One of the decisions a couple needs to make for their wedding day is, First Look? First Touch? Or Notes of Expression?

For the couple who wants to partake in cocktail hour and mingle with family and friends, a First Look is for you! This way you can get ALL of your photos done pre ceremony. You knock out the individual and wedding party photos right after the first look. Then have remaining family members arrive an hour before the ceremony to handle the rest. This gives your photographer 30 minutes before the first group of guests start arriving.

Another way to ensure your pre ceremony photo shoot runs smoothly is to have your wedding planner provide a Photo Guide Document to your photographer that is personalized to your family dynamics.

Name That Song!

In the midst of the wedding planning process, I’ve come across many couples who are unsure of the list of songs by the day’s events that they’ll need to give thought to.

So here’s the list of events that you’ll want to put a song list together for:

Prelude
Processional- Parents, Grandparents and Groom
Processional- Wedding Party
Processional- Bride
Recessional
Cocktail Hour
Wedding Party Introductions (some couples select different songs per paired bridesmaid and groomsmen)
First Dances
Cake Cutting
Bouquet Toss
Garter Toss
Anniversary Dance
Top Songs During the Dance Party
Last Dance
Send Off

Not all of these events may apply to your wedding day, but those events that do, just be sure to listen to the lyrics. Some songs have different genres or remakes.

Whether you’ve hired a band or DJ, you should meet in person or by phone at minimum 1 month before your wedding date and again 1 week before.

Creating a personalized wedding hashtag is an increasingly popular way to index all of your Instagram and Facebook photos into one easy-to-navigate stream.

Hashtags like flowers, signature cocktails or first dance songs are an extension and detail to celebrate a couple’s love.

Tips to Remember
1. Make it unique
2. Capitalize each word
3. Be humorous
4. Introduce it early by putting it on invitations, wedding website and around the venue.

Karen the owner was amazing from the start, she was very informative and made us want to book the venue right away for our wedding in November! She had many items available to rent for the day of, and she had so many wonderful recommendations for vendors in the area. Our wedding planner Deann was absolutely amazing!! She works with the venue and if you need just a day of coordinator or a full-service planner she is your go-to! This venue was perfect for us and fit our 100 guests and could have fit our original planned 150 if needed. We used both sides (reception and winery side) and they were very accommodating to make final rearrangements since it was raining the morning of the wedding. There is plenty of space to get ready for all of the guys and girls, and the venue is just beautiful! We unfortunately didn't get to use the venue before the Vineyards are fully grown but it was still a beautiful venue without them! BEST VENUE IN THE DENVER AREA with the BEST staff. Thank you again Dugaren for making our special day PERFECT!!!​

Blast From the Past…..

As my dad was going through old boxes of things collected over the past seventy years, he came across this drawing and sent me a picture of it. At first I complimented what a nice drawing it was thinking my step mom drew it.

Then, I looked at it again and thought the drawing looked familiar. As it turns out, I drew this for my dad while in my high school years. “ a long time ago!” 😂

This is a reminder to me that I need to pick up the pen again! I used to draw all the time. For all the creative souls out there, don’t let go of the things you’re passionate about and that bring you joy!
