CHICK CHAT is BACK!

We’ve got some exciting things happening at the Carnegie Center, and we’re spilling all the details!

LIVE FROM THE GALLERY is happening this Saturday, October 17, at 6 PM! Join us for an evening of art and live music featuring Chrisy Taylor, who will be sharing not only her beautiful artwork but also her musical talents!

CHRISTMAS VILLAGE EXHIBITION! We’re also excited to announce our upcoming Christmas Village Exhibition, and we want YOU to be part of the fun!

CALLING ALL FITZGERALD ARTISTS & PHOTOGRAPHERS! Alongside our Christmas Village, we’re planning a special Fitzgerald-themed All Comers Exhibition! We want to see our community through YOUR eyes! Whether it’s a painting of a familiar downtown storefront, a photograph of a local landmark, or artwork inspired by something that makes Fitzgerald special, we want to showcase it!

Watch this week’s Chick Chat for all the details, and start thinking about what YOU could contribute!

❤️ We can’t wait to celebrate the creativity, talent, and hometown pride that make Fitzgerald so special!

The murals of downtown Fitzgerald are getting new life.

Thanks to the RC3 grant from the Georgia Council for the Arts, the Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Arts Council partnering with the City of Fitzgerald Department of Tourism, Arts and Culture is putting paint back on walls across downtown — and the first mural to get the work is The Fitzgerald mural on Main Street.

This is bigger than one wall. RC3 is a statewide initiative bringing communities and creative people together to implement arts-based projects, and with part of the grant money we're restoring and refreshing public art that has been on our priority list for a long time. This opportunity will allow us to collaborate with artists, community partners, and residents to celebrate our local identity and bring new energy to our public spaces through creative approaches.

The original artist, Dylan Ross, is returning to restore his own work with preservation methods that slow the fading, and to help lead new mural projects alongside community members.

Georgia Council for the Arts is partnering with Springboard for the Arts to provide training and support. We're one of only five organizations statewide selected for the Red Clay Creative Cohort, alongside the City of Cornelia, City of Warrenton, City of West Point, and the Colquitt Miller Arts Council.

Watch downtown — the paint and creativity is coming out. 🎨
