We hope everyone has a great time!!
THE LYNDEN SATURDAY MORNING POST: FARMERS DAY EDITION
Looks to sprinkles of rain on the ol' Doppler Radar this fine morning of The Official 2026 Lynden Farmers Day Parade presented by Peoples Bank, and not the shorts and sun weather we often enjoy this first Saturday in June, but as the show will go on regardless, please take a moment to read a few Farmers Day Parade Watching Tips
> MIND THE PARKING: As you come to town, or move around town, please be sure not to park in alleyways, block driveways or in lots marked "No Parking". We want everyone to enjoy the parade, and not have your car towed
> FOR THOSE NEW TO THE AREA: Rain or shine, we go with the Parade flow. Go with the rain coat if necessary, and if you're packing an umbrella, please stand to the rear, behind the non-umbrelled, so as to not block views, yet keeping yourself dry
> A reminder of the Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser at the Lynden Community/Senior Center, and that it is opening day at the Lynden Farmers Market located at 4th and Grover in Centennial Park
> MC Portables and Septic, LLP has brought their services to the streets, specifically 7th, 10th, B.C. Avenue, to compliment the public restrooms at 4th & Front and the Lynden Library facilities
> WE WOULD BE REMISS not to give our thanks to all who have entered the parade, including the 6 marching bands, gobs of tractors, the farm equipment dealers and everything in between!
> There are a few food vendors at the 7th Street parking lot on Front, just west of the The Newsroom Pub, including Lindsay's Crazy For Kettle Corn - Mobile Popcorn Factory, a great place for a pre-parade munchy, and please be sure that the trash you create is the trash you bring home
> TRAFFIC WILL BE TIGHT for a bit, but take the opportunity to smile, enjoy and wave with all the digits the Good Lord put on your hand. There's a number of folks coming to town, and remember that someone is being patient with you at the same time you're being patient with someone else
> AND AS A REMINDER...
* Visit the stores all around Lynden
* This is a great chance for the candy receivers to share their sugar-infused harvest with those around them AND to stay out of the roadway
* ALWAYS be respectful of our parade volunteers. They are trying to keep folks safe and the parade moving at the speed of tractor
* Enjoy!
God bless, we hope to see you at the Parade, and wherever you find yourself today, remember that YOU are loved!
