Mae Flower Co.

Mae Flower Co. Mae Flower Co. is a family-owned and operated flower farm in Fenton, Michigan, looking to share our locally grown, freshly harvested blooms with you!

We specialize in growing and harvesting seasonal flowers from seed without the use of pesticides, fertilizers, or harmful chemicals. Throughout the growing season, we offer a limited number of bouquet subscriptions, DIY buckets of blooms (for graduation parties, weddings, etc.), and will have the flower stand open on a first come, first served basis on select days throughout the week. We hope to see you soon!

Don’t guess with lookalikes like this one ⚠️ I always tell people to check the stem before anything else because that detail can save you from a very dangerous mistake.
🔍 Queen Anne’s lace has a hairy stem
🟣 Poison hemlock has a smooth stem with purple blotches
🌿 The flowers can look similar at first glance, which is why I never go by blooms alone
🚫 If I’m not completely sure, I leave it alone and do not touch it
This is one of those times where a close look really matters.

So much has changed since this photo…
…and yet, so much is the same.

It’s easy to forget the work, the vision, and the moments supported in the off season. Whether it’s the annual slower season like we have growing seasonal florals, or a restful, slower paced season of life, we’re always reminded of the same things -

- Take time for the little things, for they’re the big things after all.
- Slow down and smell the roses (or, hydrangeas in our case because we’re going to be swimming in whites and pinks come late summer!)
- Life’s too short to die with your dream inside of you. Breathe life into it, and take everyone along for the ride.
- Sometimes life’s most unexpected moments are the biggest blessings.

If you missed it, we’re “starting over” in a way this spring… instead of focusing on seeds, starts, and marketing, I’m going to be holding our new little bundle of smiles and trading exhaustion from flower labor for sleepless newborn nights.

…heavy on the focusing on the “little” things here, both literal and abstract.🙂

As we embrace change, it’s reminded me of why we ever started this in the first place - and of where we’re going. Sometimes a slow down gives you the chance to catapult toward your ultimate goals, rested and with a full heart.

We’ve got only a few spots open for weddings this year left, and we’re already scheduling 2027 so reach out if you’re looking for florals!

Same goes for weekend events over all - we’re getting pretty booked up and I’d love to work with some really creative ideas this year! Send the wild and crazy ones my way - I’d love to bring them to life!🫶

We’ve got a few more things coming down the pipeline, but in the spirit of slow and steady, I’ll hold on sharing them until it feels right because holding them close feels right at the moment. I’ve spent so much time on them that I’m not ready to give it away just yet! But, soon… 🤍

Oh, and if you’ve stuck around for all of this, here’s your reward - 31 days left until spring! You’re welcome for the reminder.🫡

LOGOPHILIA | noun. A lover of/collector of words ✍️

I recently came across this term again after not using it for about a decade, and forgot how much I resonated with it. As a writer at heart and creative myself, my photo album is absolutely filled with glimmers, BTS moments, silly faces with my favorite people, and an equal amount of inspiring quotes and phrases, design ideas, and photos of some random hand sketches on scrap paper so I don’t ever lose them.

I used to hide the artistic and creative (and honestly pretty nerdy 🤓) side of myself; it’s not the thing that makes me, “me.” Funny how that works out!

————

As we transition into my favorite season, I’ve been doing lots of reflecting on this past year - and on how quickly life changes, as a reminder to be grateful and grounded.

If you believe in the woo woo side of life, I’ve had three people (because those woo things always come in 3’s, amiright?😉) tell me verbatim, “it’s crazy how things can change in an instant” over this past week. And it’s absolutely true. I think maybe there’s a universal lesson in that to learn? 😬

This year has been a wild ride of extreme highs and extreme lows - and I haven’t been shy about acknowledging that. Because, as says,
life is like, “hey, guess what?”
And you’re like, “what?”
And it’s like, “BAM!”
More life.

And if you don’t think he’s funny, sorry about it.🥴

Anyway, on a serious note… I’ve saved all of these little glimpses of “words I’ve collected” that have impacted me throughout a year of grief, change, sacrifice, and endless grit and determination. All of those words seem harsh and rough, but in between them there’s been so much light, so much love, and so many special, soft moments that my heart could burst with joy thinking of them all!

So, while not flower related, take what you need! And if you need flowers, you know where to get ‘em! 🫶

Because this view deserves a permanent spot on the feed.💜

Starting to feel like this page has become a journal - and to say that’s ironic is an understatement. My triple feature in the spring edition of is officially out and ready for download! 🥳

Visit to download and read about slow living, designing a business around what you love, and my passion for neurodivergent design theory! Also, lots of yoga and inspiring stories, too… 😉🧘🏻‍♀️

Excited to be sharing my heart in places it’s celebrated and to be spreading joy through my work. Every reader gives me fuel to keep sharing my continued studies around the intersection of biophilia, design (both built and landscapes), and mental health - the past few published articles touched more people than I could’ve imagined and hope these do the same! 🤍

REFLECTIONS ON BALANCE | 🤍

This spring has been a wild ride to say the least, and over the past month I’ve found myself amidst my two worlds colliding. It’s not often that my day job and the flower farm merge together in any capacity, let alone anything even landscape related on my projects I work on.

A few years ago, in my day job I got to learn a bit about SITES certification and work on a cool project at the Detroit Zoo. I realized there that my love of design/building and landscapes can overlap, if pursued persistently.

Fast forward to this week and my first couple of days working my new job where I get to help design interiors and learn more about exteriors, pools, and help execute some really cool projects!

🌸🌸🌸

We’re moving with great intention this year, with every move being arguably too over calculated; I think that’s great this time around though. Opposed to chasing all of the income streams (markets, subscriptions, farmers market, weddings, etc) we’re going to continue to do what we’re good at: put flowers into the hands of those who need them, sharing nature and hands-on experiences with kids and adults alike (including Bloomhaven rentals for photography 📸), and serving our growing list of amazing brides! I’m thankful we made the decisions we did about our business for 2025 because they’re making space for both creative ventures with MFC but for my career growth as well! It’s all about balance, right? ✨

The coolest part about owning a business is that no day is the same and it’s ever evolving to serve both us and our customers in the best capacity we can. Instead of burning the candle at both ends this year, I’ve been leaning into what I know and do well - both here and at work.

Business ownership looks different for us all - even those of us in the same industry! And that being said, if you’ve had an idea brewing maybe you should just do it? Because worst case, Plan A doesn’t work exactly how you think, but maybe Plan B or C is just what you need! And on our “official” year three, we’re definitely onto something with the magic recipe for balancing what works for us here. 🫶

Hope you’re enjoying the beautiful weather and sunshine today!🌸

Wrapping up some wholesale orders today after a flop of a tulip season - it’s all part of farming after all, and a backup plan is never a bad thing.😊

We took a gamble this year on second year tulip bulbs and it didn’t work out great honestly, but next year I should have a substantial number of pretty ones in my landscaping after we move them out of their raised beds!🤪

We’ll have spring Mother’s Day bouquets at this weekend and are in the midst of planning something amazing for you guys with Lexie there!🤍
