Although, I no longer take orders for birthday cakes, just sticking to wedding cakes and cupcakes, I did make a cake for AJ, a special one year old who's mother grew up getting birthday cakes from my mom. The theme was AJ in Onederland and the top tier was her smash cake. I don't like to use fondant but I did use it for all the added decorations. The cakes are still covered with buttercream.

A month ago, before all this chaos, I was able to make this wedding cake. The first one that I have done in a few years! The Eilerman-Lozada wedding was held at the Madison Event Center in Covington. The cake layers were marble, chocolate, yellow and red velvet, with of course my mom's signature buttercream. The beautiful flowers on the cake were provided by Amelia Florist and with the help of Woody and Ian, we cut and arranged them in a way that I think turned out perfect.
I waited to post pictures because I had just announced that I was back in the wedding cake business when, for personal reasons, I had to step back out of it. Hopefully, by the time everyone's life gets back to normal I will be able to step back into the wedding cake business.

Instead of saying "I love you" with a bouquet of flowers this Valentine's Day, say it with a bouquet of cupcakes! Each cupcake bouquet will have three of the following four flavors: white with apricot filling, chocolate with your choice of raspberry or chocolate ganache filling, lemon with lemon curd filling and lemon buttercream and cherry with real maraschino cherries and cherry buttercream. Pick up dates are Thursday and Friday evenings, February 13th and 14th, at my home in Felicity and will set pick up points for Friday in the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky areas as needed. $35 per dozen. I guess I'm going back into the cake business, just wedding and cupcakes though. I have a few wedding cakes coming up in the next two months and I'm thinking about having a wedding cake tasting day to see if there's any interest out there. Saturday's Lanham-Johnson wedding cake. "Frozen" blue, 2-tier chocolate with cookies and cream filling. The snowflakes were my first time using royal icing. Luckily I had made a lot of extra ones because 2 out of 3 broke!
