As a wedding DJ and full time event professional this is a conversation that honestly needs to happen more often
Most people see the speakers the lights and the gear and assume that’s the biggest investment
The truth is the biggest asset in this business is the person showing up
If I can’t physically perform load in set up read a room or stay on my feet for hours the entire event falls apart not just for me but for the couple trusting me with one of the biggest days of their lives
I carry business and equipment insurance but I also take personal coverage seriously because this job is physical long days heavy lifting travel stress and zero room for error
From the client side I’ve also seen how fast things can turn when illness or injury hits right before a wedding and suddenly joy turns into panic
This isn’t about fear or selling anything it’s about being a responsible professional and protecting yourself your family and the people who depend on you
