POSITION AND PURPOSE
You’re The Bride seeks a candidate living in Metro Detroit for part-time/contract Seasoned Wedding/Event Coordinator/Lead Planner. This team member will play a pivotal role in overseeing client weddings and events. You will be planning and coordinating weddings by managing all client details, vendors, and day-of logistics until the wedding day along with post-event onboarding. The Wedding/ Event Coordinator will work alongside the Lead Planner in a collaborative, supportive, and exciting work environment. Position will begin June 1, 2022 with the potential to take the lead on events once we deem you are ready.
LEAD COORDINATOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Have planning calls with couples ahead of wedding date
Update and manage timelines and flow of events on wedding day
Facilitate wedding rehearsal
Organize couple’s wedding day inventory list and other important documents using our portal
Answer couple and vendor questions prior to wedding day
Be the point person on Wedding Day
Set up and sometimes tear down of couple’s decor inventory list items
Manage challenges on the day as they arise
Event Planning: Collaborate with You’re The Bride staff and vendor partners to seamlessly bring client’s wedding day to fruition. Oversee catering, deliveries, design, guests, reservations, invitations and more. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and venues.
Event Logistics: Manage event logistics, including timelines, seating, menu planning, and guest management. Oversee scheduling and troubleshooting for facilities, venues,. Maintain a working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events.
Event Financials: Track event budgets and manage all event-related expenses from vendor contracts and client purchases
QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEAD COORDINATOR POSITION
Lives in Metro Detroit and has own transportation you track your own mileage for tax purposes
Minimum of 2 years in the wedding or event industry in a role other than intern or equivalent combination of education and experience
Your verbal, grammar and writing skills are top notch
Meticulous attention to detail, organized, effective communicator, multi-tasker and time management skills understanding the big picture vision
Ability to commit to weekend wedding days approximately one year in advance
Ability to work flexible day/evening/weekend hours
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish rapport and communicate effectively and respectfully with people from many different backgrounds which includes team members, clients and vendors
Confident, feels comfortable being in charge and managing a large group of people in a high-intensity environment
Fast learner, fun-loving and genuine person with a sense of humor
Interested in growing and building with the company
Flexibility, patience, and ability to work as part of a team and alone, exercise independent judgment, and take initiative to get tasks done
Available as needed for pre-scheduled virtual and in person meetings
Strong command of technology, including considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Canva is preferred
Knowledge of in-depth operation of all major social media platforms
Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously - get things done, meets deadlines and keeps promises
Resourceful
Takes ownership and pride in their work
Adapts well with change on-the-go
Can handle direct & blunt feedback and course correction as needed
Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
Creative problem solver on the fly
You delight in the details and you don’t let little things slip
