"Amanda's Critter Encounters" provides educational presentations and programs to the FM area as well as Birthday Parties. I have a lot of experience with all kind of pets and have owned numerous animals over the years, including, but not limited to, chinchillas, mice, hamsters, rabbits, horses, ferrets, turtles, cats,
dogs, parakeets, iguanas, newts, goats, fish, and more! My current personal pets include: a short tail opossum, hamsters, ferrets, tenrecs, cats, tortoises, fish, degus, hedgehogs, turtles, birds, rabbits, and LOTS of lizards and snakes. I raised show and pet rabbits for 7 years (had about 50), dwarf hamsters for 2 years, and cichlid fish for 1 year. I have helped rehabilitate a white-tailed fawn, raccoon cubs, and several cottontail baby rabbits. I have also helped operate a petting zoo that had a kangaroo, a wallaby, foxes, and other exotic animals. I have volunteered at the Circle of Friends Humane Society in Grand Forks, N.D., the Red River Zoo in Fargo, N.D., Critter Seed and Feed Pet Supply store in Moorhead, M.N, MN Pocket Pets Rescue, and Kritter Krazy Reptile and Exotic Rescue. Past pet related jobs: PetSmart (Pet Care Associate), Pets-R-Inn (Kennel Cleaner/Pet Specialist), Petco (Aquatics Associate/petcare Specialist), and Shaggy's Dog Wash and Grooming (bather/nail clipper). I started “Hillier’s Critter Sitting” in 2011. I used to write an area voices blog about pets and their care called “Pet Pellets” which had articles featured in the Grand Forks Herald and the Fargo Forum in past years. Hillier's Critter Sitting is a registered petsitter on https://www.care.com and http://www.flowersitters.com/. Hillier's Critter Sitting will come personally to your home to watch your pet in the environment that they are most comfortable in. I can watch almost any pet except insects and can watch small animals at my house (sorry no cats or dogs) but would prefer to keep the pets in the environment that they are most comfortable in and watch them at your home if possible. I also offer dog walking and pet nail clipping, bathing, brushing, and cage cleaning, as well as pet photography, and educational presentations with my personal animals. I am also starting a new service of personal pet shopper where I can gather all the supplies you would need for a new pet in your home. Please be patient as I run on a first come first serve basis. My rates range from $15-$60 a visit or hour depending on the number of visits or hours needed and the type and number of pets I'll be watching.
*For boarding, where I would take a small animal into my home to watch, the rates range from $15-$50 a day depending on the number of days and type/number of animals as well as if I have to use my own supplies or not.
*Nail trims are $15-25 a pet.
*Dog walks are $15-$25 per walk.
*Grooming packages are customizable and range from $15-$50 a pet.
*Cage cleaning is $20-50 a cage.
*Pet Photography is $50 for a 20 minute session with printing rights.
*Educational programs are $60-80 for an hour, depends what type of presentation and how many animals you'd like presented. (Birthday parties have a small upcharge as the birthday individual gets a special gift plus party favors for your guests.)
*Personal Pet shopping is $30 for one store and up to a half hour, we do not pay for your items...simply pick them out for you. Rates also vary depending on where the client is located and how much gas will be needed to reach the home or pick up/drop off a pet. Rates may change at any given time and bundle prices are avaliable for more than one service. Please message me to discuss prices and services. Can provide references and a resume upon request. I also used to do small scale rescue/foster and rehoming for critters in need. I am still happy to help with any animal care questions and can help place animals in need of new homes. I just do not regularly accept surrender intakes into my home at this time, but it never hurts to ask.
