A school Holiday Shop works best when families know what is happening before the doors open. Parents do not need a long list of instructions, but a few reminders can make it much easier for students to participate and for the week to run smoothly...

Parents usually aren’t looking for anything complicated from a school Holiday Shop. They want their kids to have fun, find gifts they’re excited to give, and come home feeling proud of what they picked out.

A good Holiday Shop should make that easy...

Pick Your Dates Before the Calendar Fills Up!

The first step is getting the Holiday Shop on the school calendar.

When you plan early, you have more flexibility to choose dates that work around concerts, assemblies, testing, sports, and other school events. Waiting until late fall can mean trying to fit the Shop into whatever openings are left.

Once the dates are set, the rest of the planning becomes much easier.

December gets busy fast in a school.

There are concerts, classroom parties, spirit days, winter activities, end-of-year deadlines, and plenty of other things competing for everyone’s attention. Add a school Holiday Shop into the mix, and it can feel like one more major event to organize during an already packed month.

That’s why getting started early can make such a difference...

A Fun Services Holiday Shop is already a special event for students. They get to walk through the shop, choose gifts for family and friends, and feel the excitement of picking something out on their own.

But for participating schools, the fun does not have to stop when the Holiday Shop is over.

Each year, schools that sign up for a Fun Services Holiday Shop are eligible to enter our annual School Carnival Giveaway. It is one of our favorite ways to celebrate the schools, PTA groups, PTO groups, volunteers, teachers, and families who help make these shopping events such a success.
