I love these photos of Donna Monacci! Donna and I have worked together for many years and are both looking forward to retirement from Fairfax County in the very near future.
Having your portrait taken is an ageless activity everyone should indulge in. These were taken right after her birthday this Fall.
DM is very photogenic, so I was excited when she scheduled her photo session.
My favs are the shots in the lovely evening dress that belong to her mother.
Wearing clothes that once belonged to a parent doesn’t just give the clothing a second life; it’s a way to preserve that parents style and memory❤️
FYI, Donna is a Beautycounter consultant. If you’re interested in clean products for your skin (no added chemicals) go to Donna’s website to learn more.

Happy Holidays Family!! I haven’t posted in awhile. Here are some recent works.
It makes me happy that most of my clients are repeat customers that have been with me for a very long time. Also happy to say, many are also friends. Staying busy, busy, busy. Sometimes I wish photography was my full time business. Soon it could be. I have a little more than a year left at my ‘day job.’ This year was different. I had many new clients just from referrals.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support. It’s been a tough 2 years. I have more posts to come…Stay tuned. LOVE YOU!

Some photos from a recent session with Maria Barnes using my new camera ❤️ Nikon Z6
Photos from Valerie Bey Photography's post
Every year brings us new experiences. You develop in size, physical characters, and, most importantly, personality. You may have outgrown costume characters and party hats, but your birthday still makes you feel special and unique.
The older we get, the more we bog down with work and other activities and forget to celebrate our life. Life easily gets in the way of our “Me Time” the whole year. Our birthday is an excuse to put up our feet and take a break from adulting for a day, and make memories.
What about throwing a photoshoot party? It is undoubtedly one way to give us the fresh and memorable moments to frame and make memento to cherish.
Here are a few photos from a session with twins Brian and Belinda for their 50th birthday.
A favorite from my photo archive. The 2nd Million Man March.

Photos from recent photo shoot with stylish Channel 16 Assistant Producer Albee Sinayoko
Shot behind the Government Ctr. I used 2 off camera flash and 50mm lens.
Fall family portrait session - COVID safe of course.
I’ve known John and his family for at least 15 years. It is such a good feeling when clients ask you to come back to take photos of their family as their children grow up and have children of their own.
Family portraits of the McKinley family. Both parents have been fortunate to work from home during COVID.
Vera T. at Union 206. Looking very relaxed and beautiful. We did a few change of clothing. Ms. V looked good in all her outfits!
Green looks good on Kerry. Two favs from last session.
I love shooting holiday photos.
I have watched these little girls grow up on camera.
This year was very special because a session was included with the great grandparents.
I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family as part of a series for the Heart of Gold Sickle Cell Foundation of Northern Virginia, INC.
They are highlighting families and their loved ones who have struggled living with SCD.
Tre had a bone marrow transplant, her brother DJ was her stem cell donor. This is what Tre told me when I asked about DJ helping her beat SCD.
“He was a baby when we got tested, but when he got older and can sorta understand what was going on his first words were “ yes yaya i want to help you feel better”

Here are a few photos from a recent portrait shoot with Linda Gyimah.
Linda is the talented owner of
Embrace Makeup Artistry.
We met when I offered a mini headshot special for the residents of Camden Fairlakes.
This was a fun 30 min photo shoot that yielded wonderful results. Looking forward to working with Linda again.

It’s a family affair! Portraits at the beach.
I saw this woman walking toward the Pennio building on my way to work one morning. She was dressed all in white. I thought she looked stunning, so I asked if I could take her photo.
