Throwback to Four Years Ago: Helping Move the Legendary Bus 142
Four years ago, our team at AUP had the incredible honor of being part of a historic operation. We were brought in by the UAF Museum of the North to assist in moving the iconic Bus 142, the very bus that inspired the story of Into the Wild.
This was no ordinary job. The bus, which had become a symbol of both adventure and tragedy, was being moved from its longtime location on the Stampede Trail to the University of Alaska Fairbanks' Engineering Building for preservation. It was a delicate operation — not only due to the bus’s historical significance but also because of its sheer size and weight. Our mission was clear: Move the bus without any hiccups or failures.

Seeing the bus up close, with its weathered exterior and the weight of history behind it, was a surreal experience. It’s one thing to read about it or watch the movie, but standing in front of Bus 142 was a reminder of the raw beauty and unpredictability of the Alaskan wilderness.
While Bus 142 isn't on display yet, it’s being carefully preserved in the UAF Engineering Building, awaiting its future exhibition. The preservation process is ongoing, ensuring that this piece of history will continue to be part of Alaska’s story for years to come.
It was an unforgettable project, and we're incredibly proud to have played a role in this historic preservation effort. Here’s to the wild journey that was Bus 142. 🚌

We were proud to support this year’s University of Alaska Blue & Gold Gala — an incredible evening celebrating staff and faculty achievements, live music, great food, and community spirit! 💙💛

Our team at Alaska Universal Productions provided full lighting, sound, stage, and our 10’ video wall displays to help bring the night to life. This year’s Gala was a true team effort — alongside our own crew, we worked with other talented local production professionals to ensure a flawless show experience from start to finish.

Huge thanks to the University of Alaska for having us and for hosting such a beautiful celebration of community and excellence! ✨
