Camp Fire Minnesota is a youth development nonprofit organization helping young people be better stewards of their communities, their world, and themselves. With 103 wooded acres on the shores of Lake Minnewashta, Camp Fire Minnesota has programs for youth ages 3-17. With summer and school break camps, PreK-12 field trips, community-based afterschool programs, Northwoods adventure trips, and leade

rship development, there's something for everyone at Camp Fire. Camp Fire is available to rent! Contact us to discuss renting our various spaces for youth groups, weddings, retreats, team-building, and conferences/meetings. Our Grand Rapids property is also available to rent! Camp Fire Minnesota is located on the lands of the Dakota and Ojibwe people.

And just like that, our final week of overnight camp is in the books! From activity-packed mornings and cooling off in the lake, to watching the sunset and winding down with cabinmates, this summer was filled with adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories. 🏕️🛶

Something amazing is happening at Nellie Stone Johnson Elementary School! Through our Afterschool Explorers program, youth are working alongside Camp Fire Minnesota naturalists to plant and care for a community garden at their school. This special collaboration is providing fresh produce to families and helping students connect more deeply with nature. 🌱🫜

Let's celebrate everyone's favorite turtle, Greta! Today is her adoption anniversary, otherwise known as her Gotcha Day. Since 2020, Greta has been working hard as our Wildlife Turtle Ambassador, greeting campers and helping them learn about northern map turtles. 🐢

It's been quite the busy year for Greta. She switched enclosures, became roommates with Tootsie the suckerfish, and underwent minor surgery. Despite all these changes, Greta is still the same spunky turtle that arrived at camp six years ago!

Summer collided with spooky season at Camp Fire Minnesota this week! Campers and staff celebrated our weekly theme, Summerween, by dressing up in their favorite costumes, carving watermelons, and trick-or-treating. It was a scary good time! 🍫🎃
