A teaching job, a restaurant opportunity and a decision to stay. None of it was part of Ellada and Doros Hadjisavva’s plan when they left Cyprus for the United States more than three decades ago. They expected America to be temporary. Instead, Henderson became home, the place where they raised a family, took chances and began a business journey that would grow across the Tri-State. Now, 30 years later, they are bringing that experience back to where it all started and betting on Henderson’s next chapter.
Ellada and Doros Hadjisavva never came to America intending to build a hospitality business. Doros arrived in the United States in 1992 to attend college in New Jersey with plans to return to Cyprus and pursue a career in banking. Ellada followed a year later, coming to Owensboro to attend Brescia University with plans to return home and teach.
