There comes a time in everyone’s life when we must face realities we’re not prepared for. In 1978, a dream was born, and what followed in the next 47 years was nothing short of miraculous. I’ve had the privilege of performing over 3,000 shows in my career. That’s 3,000 chances to entertain the masses; 3,000 times to help someone make a memory. I’ve had the pleasure of DJing for friends, family and companies. I have even gone full circle and had the pleasure of DJing weddings for the children of customers long ago. My DJ career has been my lifeline and I have enjoyed every single moment.
It is with great sorrow that I must announce my time as a DJ has come to an end. I’ve always said I would probably die behind my DJ table and, while I hope I have many more years left on this Earth, a part of my heart will definitely have a gaping hole where DJing used to be. This decision has not come lightly nor without intense consideration; myself, along with my family and very close friends have discussed this at length over the last few months. We all feel it’s what’s best for everyone at this time.
To everyone who’s allowed me to be a part of their lives over these last 47 years, I humbly thank you. Your gratitude, generosity, laughter and memories are forever engraved in my heart. I couldn’t have done this without you. You’ve brought joy to this old man’s world for a lifetime, even if our time together was short.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. And to quote my favorite singer of all times, I announce:
Randy (Elvis) has left the building.
