Forget the palm trees — she’s traded L.A. for Las Vegas, and the neon fits her just fine. Lainey Wilson is riding the Whirlwind, performing under the bright lights and proving that country music belongs anywhere the heart beats loud.

“CenterPoint Bill Blues Got You Down?" Time to Ride the Confederate Railroad.

Before streaming, before social media, and long before country music became a polished pop hybrid, there was a band that rolled in with grit, humor, and Southern soul. Confederate Railroad, born in Marietta, Georgia in 1987, didn’t just play music—they told stories that stuck to your ribs.

Led by Danny Shirley, the group first backed outlaw legends like David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck before breaking out with their own sound. Their debut album in 1992 delivered six charting singles, including:

“Queen of Memphis”

“Trashy Women” (Grammy-nominated)

“Jesus and Mama”

“She Never Cried”

“She Took It Like a Man”

“When You Leave That Way You Can Never Go Back”

Then came 1994’s Notorious, and with it, a song that hit different.

Did they have Protest Demonstrations in 1976? Yes they did—but they were peaceful. Before that we more violent in some places but nobody ever wins with a Violent Protest.

With 97 shows in '76 alone, they turned amps into amplifiers of peace, rhythm, and resistance.
