When you plan a day with so much care, not only around your vision, but around how you want every person in the room to feel, it shows.
That’s exactly how this wedding day felt.
Everything was intentional, but nothing felt overly orchestrated. There was room for the big moments, the quiet ones, the unexpected ones, and a whole lot of joy in between.
And at the center of it all, there they were: completely themselves, soaking it all in and making space for everyone they love.
So many moments, so much personality, and a day that felt very, very them. So much love for The Martins 🫶🏽

Feeling romantic today…

As engagement season approaches, we’re reminded that some of the best love stories happen in the most unexpected places.
When you start planning your engagement photos together, ask yourselves:

What feels like you? A quiet garden? A city street? Your favorite neighborhood? Somewhere completely new?

What do you love doing together? Walking, having a drink, exploring, dancing, people-watching… your session can actually feel like a date.

What kind of light speaks to you? We’re big believers in that dreamy golden-hour glow. The right light can turn an ordinary corner into something that feels straight out of a movie.

And most importantly: what story do you want these photos to tell?

Sometimes… all you really need is a beautiful sunset, the person (and the animal🤭) you love, and a little bit of time to slow down together. 🤍

That’s where the magic happens.

A wedding timeline is full of important moments.

The first look.
Walking down the aisle.
The ceremony.
The portraits.
The first dance.

And of course, we’re there to capture all of them.

But some of our favorite photos happen in between.

The moment your parents get emotional.
The last-minute vow practice with your best friends on the floor.
Your friends showing up and absolutely nailing the dress code.
The second your dad can’t hold back his tears.

Those moments aren’t planned.
Nobody announces them.
They’re usually not written on the timeline.

But they are part of your story too.

That’s why we’re always looking for both: the moments you planned for and the little moments you never saw coming.

A random memory from the archives…

Years ago, we got hired to follow a group of friends as they got ready for Lollapalooza and spent the day at the festival. It was one of the most different jobs we’ve ever done and somehow, still our only time at Lolla. 😂

Looking back at these photos, we’d say yes again in a heartbeat.

The best part? A few years later, we ended up photographing one of these fun couples’ wedding in Puerto Rico and another one in Chicago.

It’s funny how this job works. One day you’re documenting friends heading to a music festival, and years later you’re celebrating one of the biggest days of their lives.

We never take that for granted ⚡️

We came for the welcome dinner and somehow got fireworks too.

One minute everyone was enjoying dinner, the next the sky started lighting up behind them. Nobody planned it. Nobody expected it. It just happened, and it felt like the perfect backdrop for a night that was already pretty special.

Also, these ruins were unreal 🫶🏽Every time wr thought we were done taking photos, another corner would appear and change my mind. Some of them were slightly higher up than I would have preferred, but that’s a story for another day.

Mexico, good food, great people, unexpected fireworks, and a location that kept giving us reasons to keep exploring
