My new single Namu is out tomorrow. I wrote this song while I was in Nunavik for a festival. This was at the very beginning of my independent artist career, and I had many shows lined up. I was very excited to be an artist full time, and I just kept wondering, where will my music take me? Also, i feel like this is a question that we ask ourselves, "where are we going? What are we going next?" that was my inspiration for this song.

So I went through all my art tonight (not photos though omfg) because I was going to join the 21st century and digitize my portfolio, but then I was attacked buy lots and lots and lots of prints. So, yeah... It's actually all cleaned up now & ready for photos tomorrow (battery is STAYING on the charger lolsob). Gonna be putting some up soon on my ko-fi (will post link when it's more then 2 things).

Lori Lightfoot, y'alls current favourite b/c she said "F-U Trump" announced last night's curfew announcement AT EXACTLY 9PM, when the curfew started & while ALL THE BRIDGES between the N & S sides of the river were UP & transit wasn't running from Downtown AT ALL & hadn't been for HOURS (& have NOT been put back down). THEY WERE TRAPPED WHEN YOU ANNOUNCED THE DAMN CURFEW. STOP CRIMINALIZING BLACK BODIES.

Tonight she announced that ALL CTA SERVICE, i.e. ALL busses, ALL trains were shutting down at 6:15, FIFTEEN FU***NG MINUTES BEFORE THE SHUTDOWN. When they had the river bridges up ALL DAY & on/off ramps on the Kennedy & L*D have been shut down SINCE 11 AM. Surface streets into (or out of) the South Side ALL BEING BLOCKADED & police have been AMASSING all over the South Side AND the National Guard just rolled in (& is staging from Comiskey if reports are accurate)

It's punishment for being Black & sick of being treated like their lives don't matter.

You tell people they need to go home & yet you cut off ANY MEANS of getting there & tonight, in fact, STRANDING THEM RANDOMLY on their commute.

But protesters were wrong & this s**t isn't a deliberate push to jail as many Black & Brown bodies as possible for asking for the TINIEST favour that cops STOP KILLING THEM.
